Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The feeder on top of the unit has worked great until recently. Now it won't even pull in one sheet of paper to copy. Cleaned rollers and flat scan area and messed with the rollers to see if they just weren't making good contact with the small piece of cork underneath. Wondering if we have just worn out the cork til it is so smooth and indented that it won't grip the paper to pull through? (HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One-Printer)
The arm in the printer is a cog setting you may have inadvertently knocked it out of alignment, it has free movement on a pivot and spring but when the printer uses it, it pushes on the mechanism to grip the paper and the roller at the bottom freeds it though, sometimes using to thick paper can do the samething. you would need to open up the device and locate the mechanisms, and make sure there is noting in the way of the controller's, i've seen a tiny piece of silver rapper make the same problem.

HP instructions for this operation here. See this article. and this article to change the default settings.
If these settings are correct and you still can't copy from the glass, try a partial reset as outlined here.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

I put an elastic band around the black roller as it doesnt seem big enough and it works nearly every time now. Have done this with another L7780 Pro as well which fixed it completely on that one.

I had the same problem... If you take the upper feed roller assembly off you there should be a grey rubber pad about 1.5 inches wide. This pad is held in place by a small metal clip. You will probably find that the pad has pulled out of the clip. I bent the clip to hold the pad a little tighter and has worked fine since. There was no problem with the rollers.
