Dell E177FPB monitor has ghost images "bleeding"

I had dual monitor with color bleed to the right. The solution was
1) identify optimal resolution for both monitors ( Dell 198wfp @ 1400 x 900) and (Laptop @ 1200 x 800) 2) check colour setting (32 bit or 16 bit) 3) reduce colour setting down to 16 bit) 4) Check performance 5) reduce screen resolution 6) check 7) cycle between screen color and screen resolution 8) if no luck, check updating the drivers for graphic card 9) if no luck, check updating monitor drivers 10) if no luck, check altering memory set aside for graphics (onboard memory for example or off-graphics-chip-on-RAM-memory) 11) Monitor checking software is very helpful : try "http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?id=22" for the Nokia Monitor Test (a CRT tester) or any other freeware/shareware testing program such as passmark's products etc.,
You might just have to suffer with a large workspace and mungy grapics performance though ... I am.

I have an Acer Aspire one and it won't let me change my resolution off of 800x600 I have windows 7 ultimate x64 (32-bit right?) i need help to get my 1024x600 res back.

Generally - you simply need to right-click anywhere on the desktop that does not have an icon present, and select "Screen resolution". Adjust the slider as needed to obtain the desired resolution. If the resolution desired is not available, choose another that is close.

Digging deeper, you might want to investigate the "Advanced settings" to make sure that you've got the correct drivers loaded in the settings for both the "Adapter" and "Monitor" tabs.

Lastly, "Windows Ultimate x64" is the 64 bit version of Windows. The 32-bit version is referred to as "Windows Ultimate x86" If there are both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers available for your Aspire, make sure you get the correct version 32-bit = x86 and 64-bit = x64. The "x86" tag came from the Intel processor line up where the "x" represented the generation (8, 16 and 32 bit CPUs) and the "86" were the last two digits to indicate the instruction set used by the CPU like this:

8086, 80286, 80386, 80486, etc.

The 64 bit CPUs are not x86 family processors, so they do not carry the x86 tag. Please rate this reply if it was helpful to you - good luck!

Monitor will come on briefly then turn back off, what could be the problem?

A distinct possibility would be a resolution error in the operating system. Try booting in "Safe Mode" (I assume you use Windows), and see if it works. If it does, change the resolution to something safe, such as 1024 x 768 by 16 million colours (24 bit), or even lower. Then boot normally. At that point, increase gradually the resolution.

I have Asus P5ld2-vm motherboard, when i install vga driver screen resolution come only 600 x 450 4 colour

Have you changed the bit settings? Suppose if it's 16 bit, change it to 32 bit and see the affect. Updating the driver to the latest version will also solve your problem, if there's no mistakes with the internal settings. If you still have problem, do let me know.. Good luck.

In settings, I want to change from low colour to high clour 32 bit. Because everything is visible in blurred state. Windows XP.

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please do the following

1) Right click on the desktop
2) Left click on properties
3) On Display settings windo that will open up please click on the tab entitled 'settings'

Inside this tab there will be a option to change the colour resolution and colour quality (i.e. 16 bit, 32 bit etc)

If the screen is in a blurred state you may also need to change the screen resolution

I hope this helps.

Screen sizing

Your problem is that the correct video driver is not installed and therefore cannot use all the video RAM.(the XP version of the video driver won't work with Win98).
When you adjust to True color at a higher resolution it drops to a lower resolution because it has insufficent video RAM, but you will get a higher screen resolution at a 16 bit color because it requires less memory (video RAM).
Install the Win98 driver for the graphics card and then it can use the full video RAM at a higher screen resolution with 32 bit color.

My screen has gone massive and the colours have gone negative. help me?.................. x

Hi,

That sounds like your video card has gone back into VGA mode, 16 colours and a screen resolution of 640 x 480.

Go into the display settings and try setting the resolution to something like 1024 x 768 and the colour to 32 bit (16 million colours).

If the adjustment cannot be made, it is likely you have a graphics card driver issue. Find out what graphics card or chip you have and download a new driver from the manufacturers website.

Hope this helps.

Andy
