My packard acer wont turn , power light comes on when pluged it , but wont power up

Packard Bell, Acer? Which manufacturer? Remove the power, remove the battery, remove hdd and RAM. Plug in the power supply and press On. It will complain that is has not any RAM etc. If it does, insert one RAM chip and try again gradually if not you have a motherboard issue.

When I turn on the laptop, I get 4 beeps in a row and it wont power up. What could be wrong?

The Emachines were running the Phoenix BIOS. 4 Beeps in Phoenix could indicate a RAM issue.
It can be a simpe issue of the RAM chip came loose, and should just be re-seated. Turn your machine upside down, and locate the MEMORY cover. These can usually be removed using a small star /phillips screwdriver.
Once opened remove the memory module by gently pressing outward on the retaining clips on both sides of the memory module until the memory module is released and tilts upward. Then, pull the module out of the slot.

To insert it again, hold the memory module at a 45-degree angle and insert it into the now empty memory slot. Gently press down on the module until the retaining clips click into place

or the RAM has been corrupted and you should replaced the RAM chip- it used DDR SDRAM 333MHz9_9_2012_7_26_58_pm.jpg

Computer just shut down and now it wont start up again! thought it was the battery I bought a new one but it still wont turn on any clues! thanks

First, you would like to take the battery out and press the power button for 30 seconds. Test another Ac adapter with your laptop. Then put the battery out and try to see if it turns. If that is not the issue, try to see if one of the memory chips is damage. Take one out, then take the other one out if you have two chips of ram of course. If this does not solve you might want to take it to a computer shop to test the motherboard. Good luck!!

How to fit ram chip to nec versa

turn the laptop off and manually turn it over, there should be a screw covered panel on the bottom of the laptop, un screw the screws securing the panel, then check inside that there is a chip. Your probably going to find a 200pin chip there in one or two slots, that is your ram memory, just replace it with what ever type ram is corrrect for your computer.

I put two 2GB RAM in my memory slot and only one is registering, so instead of 4GB RAM, I have 2GB. Why is this and what can I do to get the full 4GB?

ok i checked on your model and it says 2gb RAM max and so it is probably seeing both chips but only seeing 1gb each since that is what the slot is made for..
But to be totally sure you might wqant to check the bios and see what it says since some bios will sometimes give more details as to how many chips are installed.
or take out one chip and turn the computer back on and see if it shows 1gb or 2gb if it shows 1gb with one 2gb chip then you will know that the slot wont read more than 1gb.

ACER 9410-4933 LAPTOP ? Won?t boot with 4Gb CRUCIAL RAM

YES THE FREQUENCY OF BOTH RAMS DO NOT MATCH ... THATS BOOTING WITH EACH BUT ONLY ONE BY ONE ... YOU NEED RAMS OF SAME FREQUENCY AND SYSTEM WILL SUPPORT BOTH OF THEM TOGETHER ...

Locks up on boot

With the power off, battery removed/no adapter plugged in, try removing and reinserting the RAM chips on the bottom. (they will have their own access panel. There will be a thin metal 'prong' on either side the holds the chip in place, gently push the open end away from the board to get it loose (it will pop up). gently lift out only touching the sides of the board. don not touch the chips or pins. Gently reinsert the way it came out. (you wont really harm the ram if you happen to touch it, but just to be safe as there is a slight chance). Once it is reinstalled and the cover back on, restart eh computer. If it still hangs, one or both chips may be bad. (this of course assumes you have 2 ram sticks and not one) It wont boot without one, but try booting with only one (if you have 2). If it were making it past the bios I would look more towards the HD, but with the Bios locking up I bet its just the ram needs to be reseated. post back if it still wont work/more questions.
