if the sony laptop already has an OS on it or a newer version of windows than XP, you have to uninstall the current OS on the sony vaio. also, that means reformatting the Hard Drive on the sony which actually wipes it clean. Before you do that, you should have the original disk of the sony pc drivers installation or you need to go to the product(sony vaio) web site so you can download those drivers for (PCG-61213W) to disk or flash drive. after wiping Hard drive, you can install the XP, then the drivers that you downloaded. However, viaos are strange pc's so i would ask Sony if this XP install will be compatible with the Sony pc hardware components first. good luck.
I think the model number for your laptop is VAIO VGN-AW310J PCG-8152L. Click the link below for Sony support & check the picture. If this is your laptop, the link below will provide you with all the drivers you need for it.
The manual for the PCG-K series is found here:
The specifics of the K315S model don't appear to be anything but minor variations of each other (such as more ram, different hard drive, or larger/smaller screens) so this manual should cover all the basic functions of the laptop.
Since this appears to be a laptop made for European markets you can use this website to find drivers and other documentation: http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/index.aspx
You will need to enter your serial number off the labal on the bottom of the machine.
Hope this helps!
If you know the manufacture of the audio device, you can go to their website and download the drivers for free. If you do not know who made the audio device, you can look on the device and find a model number. Enter this number in Google and it will bring up some results with the manufacturer. If it is built in, go to the computer's website and download the driver.
I hope this helps, let me know if you need further information.
