hi,
i have a ASUS CUSL2-C motherboard running win98. i have a Turtle Beach
Montego II sound card. sound is working fine. i can't get the game port to
work. windows does not even detect it. i get a message at boot saying the
sound card is not pluged into a primary PCI slot. how cant i get my game
port to work?

I have a system with a Montego II and another with a Montego II Quadzilla
and both are mounted in CUSL2s. I don't know if the -C is similar, but
would have to assume it is. Both gave me the same error you got.
The first link is just the solution/reason that TurtleBeach gives, the
second is the files you need for a Montego II w/Win98.
Straight off the TurtleBeach Site :
" Montego II: Error: "Not in the Primary PCI Slot"
If your motherboard has a Front Side Bus of 133 MHz or greater, the Montego
II
series sound cards may report that it is not in the primary PCI slot and
that
some of its features will not work. To resolve this problem please update to
the latest drivers for your sound card. Use driver version 2046.

Your mileage may vary, but it worked for me.

I had the non-detection problem with my Montego I. Had to download and install
the latest Intel Inf drivers. You might want to download the latest sound card
drivers from vortexofsound.com
