Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

Refusing to take paper

My CLP300 will not take paper from the tray at all. I have checked all rollers I can get to and no joy. As soon as the mechanism moves, and it does attempt to, it stops and says the paper has jammed in the tray.
I've made it accept paper by force feeding it and sometimes it will go but it's more trouble than it's worth. Any ideas (other than "dropping" it outside on the path!!!!)

Using two methods seen on this site, I seem to have got the thing to print.

    1. Clean the central take up roller with WD40

    2. The tray seems a sloppy fit in the printer and hangs down slightly.Place the printer on a flat surface and place a small prop under the front edge of the paper tray to lift it up.

    Seems to be ok now.

Thank you to those who have posted advice.

I have the same problem and try those methods, but could not make the printer to take the paper.

I have the same problem too. It warms up and runs for a few minutes then delays and restarts, just when it is about to take the paper it jams and the red light comes on. This has been going on since I got it. Usually it will clear with a few tries. Now it has taken 10 -15 cycles to get it to work. Then it works for a while. There is definitely a mfr defect on this product. I am getting very close to just giving up on this piece of junk. It is sad because other than that it is a good printer. I dread the idea of getting another inkjet, but can't afford another laser now.

Yep, same problem, same disasterous results. And yes the same wondering when some wonderful genius will post the answer miraculously before we log off our pc's with absolute disgust for technology. And yes still cursing silently to oneself "thought you could save yourself the aggrevation with not having to buy $50.00 in ink every month to print maybe 10 sheets of nothing important until you need one sheet of last minute necessity to find you need to spend an extra 50 a week later because someone touched your tempermental printer and you vowed that te laserjet was your only hope for printer redemption." Still depressed and still no answers.

I tried that and it didn't work. I also tried elevating it in the front, cleaned the roller, no paper anywhere in there. I guess I should send it back, if no one has a solution.

At the far end of the paper tray on the sides are two catches that restrain the spring loaded flap under the the leading edge of the paper stack. It sure looks like the are supposed to be released when the tray is fully inserted since there is mechansim on both sides to reengage them when the tray is pulled out. On my printer they never seem to release upon insertion which I assume is why my printer can't pick up a sheet to print on.

My printer started doing the SAME thing today. Will not pickup paper no matter what. Maybe the printer is a dud. It was cheap and nasty but the toner cartridges keep me broke!

Someone suggested to empty the gray toner waste container located on the left side of the printer next to the cartridges. Be careful when emptying this as toner can make a real mess. Clean up with toilet paper or paper towel - not water!

Easy fix and this fixed mine like a charm. No need to send the unit in!

Lift up the front of the printer a few inches at each corner. Paper will slide beautifully into the rollers.

Virtually refuses to print CD's. Have re-whitened the blocks on the CD tray and still refuses, just "jams" every time

You will need to check the rollers insiode the printer and the full printer path, cd paper is thicker than standard paper and will take less to block it, also look for stickyness on the print rollers

Getting u6-00 on arc172 checked all conectors switched m/c off/on no joy

the error code is for paper miss feed or tray not set properly make sure you have the paper cassette is put in properly and that the paper guide plates at the sides of the paper are set properly and the guide at the back is holding paper in tray correctly o-pen the paper tray take it out and check this and then reset open the side door and close it correctly and this should help reset youcan check the paper feed rollers as well as sometimes they get dirty and will not feed properly you can clean these with a little glass cleaner and a soft cloth good luck A

Paper will not feed

Check if a piece of paper is still left from the paper jam. Sometimes pieces of paper get stuck behind the feeder roller if the paper is torn while removing the jammed paper

Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.

2. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the print cartridge.

10. Insert the left side of the new pickup roller into the left slot (1), and insert the right side (with notches in the shaft) into the right slot (2).

11. Rotate the shaft until the notches engage and the shaft clicks into place. 12.Place the end cap over the shaft on the left side, push the end cap to the right, and rotate the tab downward into position.

Paper not grabbing

There are two possible solutions for this problem.
Usually it is due to the pickup roller wearing or becoming contaminated with toner or paper dust.
Simple solution, clean the pickup roller, the best thing for this is WD40, put a very small amount on a clean cloth and wipe the roller underneath the printer. Use a clean dry piece of cloth to wipe off any residue.
More complicated solution, remove the roller and reposition, you will need two small flat-bladed screwdrivers to pry apart the retaining clips, remove the roller, a tight squeeze beneath the laser housing, reposition and clean as above then refit the roller. You should find that the paper is picked up cleanly once again.

I hope this helps,
