Question about Pioneer AVIC-N2 Car DVD Player

Pioneer Sucks!!! AVIC N2 for sell.

Well the display on the front of my AVIC N2 has burnt out. Well I sent it in to the company, and got a phone call from a lady saying it would cost $200 to fix a burnt out fuse inside the unit. First of all the whole CD player and Navigation unit cost around $1,700. So you mean to tell me something that expensive would break in 3 years? Well I have decided that most (not all) Pioneer products are ****! The plus side to all this is they upgraded the Flex Cable for free, but whatever. Since I have got it back I now cant get the Ipod source to turn on. So just another problem. Well now I have come to the conclusion that I must get rid of this thing before I throw it down on concrete. Im selling it for whoever wants to take on the challange of keeping it together. Im gonna reserch this model and price it later. Let me know if you are intrested. I completly understand if your not.

Yeah, I have a brand new Pioneer fh-p8000bt. Doesn't download my phonebook from my blackberry 8800, nor with my new Blackberry bold. Then upgraded to a bold, so now voice calling via blue tooth does not work...which is the whole point of buying this piece of c@#p! So the only way I can dial out now is to actually dial by my BB, which will be illegal here a in a couple of months!!

They admit knowing about the phonebook issue, but no new developments to resolve....in otherwords, they could care less. MY LAST PIONEER PRODUCT EVER!!! PIONEER REALLY SUCKS!

My pioneer avic n2 will not turn on,but when the


sounds like you have blown your acc fuse or your risistor on your red wire on your radio has shorted out you can bypass this wire by choping it off it dose not affect the radio ,dvd at all.

Use the CD-IB100ii from Pioneer. This will allow charging, text display and audio, but not video.

Avic n-2 blank screen==cable upgrade done year ago


I have seen Pioneer replaced ribbon cables fail in as little as 3 months. Rick on Ebay guarantee his cables for life or as long as you own it. His company name is Same Day Audio Services and he is very reliable. He will do it for around $100. Pioneer only replace it free for the first time, after that they might charge up to $220. Good luck.
PS. I fix service and sell the Avic N series on Ebay.I get my part from Rick, mention Hogan from Utah and you might get a discount.

Display not working


just got a tech bulletin from pioneer in my bulk mail(almost trashed it). they said its a recall on all avicn1 and 2's. the ribbon wire going from unit to screen fails after many cycles. they are issuing free repair.

A guy name Rick sell them on Ebay. His company's name is SAME DAY AUDIO SERVICE. He is very reliable. It run about $65 or you can have hime replace it for about $85 plus shipping. Goodluck.

Contact Pioneer Tech Support. It might be your ribbon cable. There is a free repair (shipping cost only), due to a defective ribbon cable for the display.

Pioneer avic n1 video by pass but now doesnt work when i upgraded w n3 disc


I am pretty sure that pioneer does this so you cant bypass it. The n1, you just have to ground the parking brake wire,the n2 you have to solder the 2 points together under the piece of tape, the n3 you have to move over the switch on the side of the unit. Which all of these void your warranty anyway but I think that is why people eventually downgrade the the old dvds.
