Re: tv. will not turn on
You might have blown an in line fuse. It would be right where the power cord hooks up to the TV. If that's the case and you replace it and it blows again call the repairman. Real good chance it just blew though. Good luck.

The main system control memory IC to this TV is damaged. Replace it. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Your TV is being overheated by the location it is placed. try moving it in an airy area and see if the problem still occurs. The turning on and off is a response to overheating sensors in the TV housing and if not rectified it could malfunction and may cause burnout, a possible risk of fire.
We had a Hitachi that did the same thing. If you got it from a dealer.....TAKE IT BACK! The problem will not go away. It is a lamp heat sensor that protects the projector from over heating. These are defective and they don't know what to do to fix them. They will have you change out the lamp, send to a repairman to replace the sensor and he will have to watch it for a week to see if that cures it.
We messed with this for 10 months, before they finally did a buy back and we went and bought a new Sony.
I found your site confusing. If you had read my post, you would have noticed that my problem referred to a 15" flat screen 'CELLO' .TV/DVD combo. I had sound but no picture. When switched on, the screen lit up and the word CELLO appeared then the sreen went black
your tv has become magnetized the easiest way is to find a deguasing coil to demagnetize it however only services shop usally have those! you can try unplugging and turning set back on several times to see if that will clear it up as sets have a built in deguasing setup good luck from television tech!
mine did the same thing, I took it to a TV repair store and they said it was a power surge which damaged the power source board. (possibly caused by lightening) total cost to repair was $70.00 well worth since was only couple years old. TV is working well.------we'll see for how long????
