From the sounds of things, the issue may be a logic board issue if it is erroring out the same way each time. Many times a small scap piece of paper can get stuck inside the printer causing the paper error, but pressing the OK button would not clear the error which leads me to believe it is a logic board issue. May be time for a new printer.

Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

  • When using media less than 8.5 inches wide

  • To rest against the edges of the paper or media, making sure it does not buckle

C5180 Keeps repeating: Clear Paper Jam. Despite looking very carefully there appears to be no paper or jam. Powered off and retried a number of times without success

You need to open up the printer in order to truly look carefully. Sometimes it just needs a good cleaning internally, dusted, swiped with alcohol. Sensors can be very delicate.
