Now i have another problem with outlook express
when i go to click on a website from my mail, it's works for a while then when i try and click on another website or any website from the mail i keep getting a block that says it's not responding and freezes and i have to click control alt delete and it closes.

My pc is 6 years old and it's working pretty good, i di install system mecanic, and that works well.
I am so frustrated with my e mail and hope you can help.

Do not get frustrated as PC is a machine after all. poor guy what can it do, it served you nicely for 6 years. :-)

Well, get this reg file, save it on the desktop and double click to run it. Then press Yes when it asks to put info in the registry:

You might need a reboot.

Hi Noreen....

i can help you with part one of your problem...

if you have an e-mail saved to anywhere on your hard-drive, right click on it and choose 'properties'... at the top you will see 'opens with' click on the 'change' button and choose outlook express from the list.

there are a couple of other ways to do this, but that's the most direct, if you have any more questions, let me know...

For creation of backup I used this tool, try:
Outlook Express is one of the most popular mail clients at the moment. Its popularity is attributed to the fact that it is included in the distribution package of all Windows operating systems starting from version 95 OSR2. It is absent from Windows Vista and later in Windows 7 where another mail client is used - Microsoft Mail. So, users quite often encounter the problem of backing up information from Outlook Express. You can solve it with Outlook Express Backup Toolbox.

Outlook express wont open tells me error 0x800cc012e

Hi, Outlook express stores mails in a *.dbx files. So search for the files and keep a copy of the folder that contain these *.dbx files. Then uninstall outlook express from windows component, you know outlook express is a component of MS WIndows, but you can uninstall it. After that re-install it and use the previously backed up folder as the store folder.
Thanks

Outlook Express Not Receiving Attachments From One Sender

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click on Tools->Message Rules->Mail
  3. Check the Mail Rules and Blocked Senders tabs
This is just a preliminary check for anything that may be modified that could be causing your problem. Since the issue is with a specific sender, I would check there first.

Winmail to Outlook express 6

Outlook Express does not display any message attachments if TNEF-encoded file (winmail.dat) was received. If you are expecting some attachment, but do not see any, it still can be there.

To decode such a message perform the following steps:
  1. Save the whole e-mail message to an *.EML file via File, Save As, or Drag-and-drop.
  2. Open the *.EML file in a text editor such as Wordpad or Notepad.
  3. Locate the line Content-Type: application/ms-tnef;, and change the Content subtype to something else, such as Content-Type: application/zzz;
  4. Locate the line name="winmail.dat" and change to name="winmail.tnf". You may change the winmail part as well, if desired.
  5. Save the *.EML file from the text editor.
  6. Double click the *.EML file from the Windows File Explorer. This will open the message in a mail window and the TNEF attachment should now be available for saving.
  7. Drag the saved attachment into the Winmail Opener program. Decoded attachments will then be there and can be dragged or opened.
