Question about Inter-Tel Axxess Corded Phone

1 Answer

Alarm 16 I receintly took a position where I was asked to be the "go to person" for the phone system because no one else knew much about them. The most knowledge I have with phones is answering the other line when it is beeping. We have an inter-tel axxess phone system. Right now the phone is saying "Sys alarm #16 no delayed major". I have no idea what that means. The user book is absolutly useless to me as I don't understand the terminology at all. So really two questions. What does that alarm mean, and second is there a good place for an amature to learn about this system, specifically the terms and a basic understanding of how it works? Thanks!

So really two questions. What does that alarm mean,
What is the exact Make/Model of your Phone System?

And Second is there a good place for an amature to learn about this system, specifically the terms and a basic understanding of how it works?
-How big is the company you are working for? In most bigger systems, when the system costs in excess of $10,000 the company you bought the system from will offer free training days. It some cases it may be free for this class, in others you may have to pay them. However, since everyone you buy a phone system form sets the phone systems up in different ways, the only true way to get how your phone system is setup the way it is, is to go to whomever you bought & installed your phone system.

Contact me with the make / model of the system, and what State you are located in (if you feel comfortable with) and I can route you to major dealers that work with servicing phone systems like yours. That or at least somewhere that would provide training.

On another Note : If you didn't receive any documentation with the phone system, there may be a limited amount of resources online, but companies that sell these systems like to keep that information to themselves, and the companies that manufacture these big systems do not provide the information to the general public.

I dont see the incoming calls

Is this a phone you have had for a while and it quit showing the calls, or a knew phone that never showed them to begin with? Is it just name of the person, the phone number, or both? Does it show anything on the screen? I have had a number of cordless phones, I just need a little more detail please.

How do i connect comcast phone using 2 phone numbers to a alarm panel

It's pretty straightforward, but I'm guessing that you are not using an Arris or Adtran box. Since you asked, you probably have modular jacks that give you dial tone. You run a cable to the alarm system, terminating the alarm end on RJ-31x jacks. The other end gets punched down on a block, then you jumper the IN pair to the modular jack from the Comcast and the OUT to the house wiring or phone system.

You can Google the phrase "how to wire an RJ31x jack" and get either a simple discussion or complete step-by-step instructions on the subject.

Samsung prostar 816 plus system ringing problem

sounds like your having a couple of problems at the same time. the lines only ringing at station 1 is the default setting of the system my guess is that the time and date are also way off if thats the case.
To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
3) press the line you wish to program
4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
5) press # when finished with the line
6) repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
press #when finished.

next, the problem with the cordless not working has to do with the port programming, in default it assigns all ports as multiline sets.
To assign a SLT(single line telephone) port to the system while still in program mode dial #38 the screen should say slt dial type and then 16 0's.
0 = keyset 1=slt set
enter in all 16 digits followed by the # i.e.if your cordless is on port 7 it would look like 0000001000000000 #
lastly the phone that can no lnger recieve calls sounds like the do not disturb or DND has been pressed to stop the alarm from ringing. press the mute/dnd button (light should be off). to cancel an alarm press the ALM/SD button twice and then the hold button.
hope that helps out.
