ctwoods, this sounds like the heating element has shorted to the heater can. What that is doing is leaving the element at 1/2 power on all the time. If this happened, then the heat kept going up until it blew the thermal fuse which caused the motor not to run. So check the heater and any fuses in the dryer. You can go to Service Matters for Whirlpool Service Manuals on this model.

I know this might sound stupid but try this. Find your fuse box, locate the breaker that runs your dryer. Flip it off and then back on. If i'm correct, it will work. Everything on your dryer works off of one leg of the 220v. The other leg goes to the other side of the element. If you have a meter. check for 220v at the plug. Everything you listed is what makes the dryer heat other than the thermostats. Check the cycling thermostats like you did the other pieces. They look like the thermal cut off. They have two wires and they are round.

My LER 7648PQ0 whirlpool dryer doesn't heat but motor runs and programmer seems to run right. What is the problem ? I use an 220 V => 110 v transformer. How can I connect electrical wires at the back...

is your dryer 110v or 220v? If everything works except the heating element the element is bad or the one time fuse has popped it has two wires on it and one runs to the heating element or the hi temp switch on the heating element the fuse will be a small disc type when removed do not mistake the hi temp switch it is located on the element housing the one time fuse is ususally located on the dryer its self all of this is accessed on the back of the dryer under the back panel. good luck. (ground and common are the same in homes in mobile homes they are seperate and the dryers are 4 wire plugs L1 ,L2,neutral and ground).

I don't know anything about dryers so please bear with me. My dryer drum turns, fan blows, but wont heat. replaced heating element. Still no heat. Has 124 volts on both prongs of element. What should i do?...

Have you tried flipping the breakers @ your electrical box? Mine will do that at time when one breaker has tripped. It will have enough juice to run it but not heat it. IF that doesn't work there may be a broken wire to the heating element or possibly even a faulty heating element. I'd try the breakers first though.(Im not a professional I've just been a single mom for 18 years and have found myself working on all sorts of things and gaining knowledge from hands on experience) Hope it helps & works.
