Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

Unknown error My pc is over 5 years, few days ago, i have a unknown error. Once it's plug to power cable, it's starts to give few seconds continous short loud beeps, then continous (endless loops) of silent short beeps before i even press the power on button. Also, the Power Led is flashing faster than usual including the Power on button keep flashing green. After my power unit died out, i then got a new power supply, but still got the same problem. Even a new Hard drive, still a problem... My CPU and new Power Unit is working perfectly but i still can't find what's the problem is. I'm not even sure what's BIOS my system is using...

i don't think i need to replace my memory since i replace it 4 times just then...

    i don't know where's the video card is... ( i think i don't have one)

i just switch around 2 of my DDR RAM...

    cooling fan is on.

didn't try remove all unnecessary components yet
which i try to do it later on, using my sibling's laptop atm.

    ok,

i try stick in 1 RAM at a time, and also in different slot, then done the same with other RAM, but still the same result.

also i try with remove hard drive, unnecesary components still have the same problem.

    thought this might be useful:
i played online game when it's nearly midnight, then all the sudden, it shutdown unexpected and restart itself then it give this unknown error.... i unplug the plug taht lead to power cable since it won't stop with the same beep sounds and it won't shutdown. plug it again, still the same problem, then 3rd time the system stop, due to the power unit stop working (since it is very old using it over 5 years~).

Then get a new power unit which is 450 watts one, since my power unit was 250 watts,
then i thought a while ago just yesterday night, does it happen using 20 pins or 24 pins? since it's does still work for my system but still have the same error.

After i try with new power unit, i brought a new hard drive fixed perfectly and i don't see anything wrong with the new hard drive at all...

    mmm...

my pc turn on by itself giving beep errors, then carries on with the same error and my monitor doesn't get the signal from my motherboard so i can't get to bios start up screen.

and yes, my cooling fan and processor is on.

but i have no idea what manufacturer/model/version is my motherboard is, check everywhere on the motherbard but i can't find it.

What did you replace the memory with?
    Is the cooling fan ON?

  • ted dux Feb 17, 2009

remove all pci cards and hard drives, all unnecessary components.

  • ted dux Feb 18, 2009

I figured that's what you did with RAM.
Try with only ONE RAM Stick at a time, one is bad.

  • ted dux Feb 19, 2009

    Is it fixed?

    Can you enter bios?
Set first boot item to cd:
Boot with ubuntu live cd and run memtest from the start options.

  • ted dux Feb 19, 2009

Is the cooling fan on PROCESSOR ON?

  • ted dux Feb 19, 2009

At this stage you need to supply Mother Board Info such as manufacturer/model/version.

Adobe Illustrator gives the error message

I've found a solution that temporarily worked.

Reset the settings, workspace and preferences in illustrator to the defaults. This worked for a few saves but then the Unknown Error returned. If you are still experiencing the issue I can suggest this program Illustrator Repair Toolbox https://www.repairtoolbox.com/illustratorrepair.html

Why is it identified as Unknown Device?

You need to click the unknown device icon and search and install the drivers. If you have the disc that came with the machine, then they should be on that. One possibility is that you didn't follow the device installation instructions properly. Missing out some step that is required. So read the installation instructions carefully again. Double check that you haven't missed something. I know that these days for example some printers tell you when to connect them to a PC. Connecting the cable before then can cause problems.
One final thing check the cable that connects it. I had one once that though it knew there was a printer, it just couldn't recognise it, just like yours. I replaced the cable and it detected the printer straight away - name, everything!!!

Stop the two red lights on my epson r200

Please try this procedure one more time using the instructions below.
  1. Turn the printer off, and disconnect the interface cable.
  2. Turn the printer back on.
  3. If the error lights disappear, turn the printer off and reconnect the interface cable. Turn the printer back on and try printing again.
  4. If the error lights continue, unplug the printer power cord for a few seconds and reconnect it to a different power outlet.
  5. If the printer is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, try plugging it directly into the outlet.
Note: Also check that the ink cartridges and lids are pushed down fully.
If the problem persists, an unknown printer error has occurred. The printer may require service.

How to remove unknown bios password?

All laptops and desktops carry a bios battery, the easiest way to reset your bios is open it and umplug the battery for at least 5 minutes and plug it back. You will have to open the laptop. Usually is a battery connected near the CPU its like a watch battery. But if its a 5 year old laptop the most easiest way y to unpkug from all power sources and leaving it alone for at least a day press the power button so it can release the stored power on the capacitors. You have a bad or loose DC connector on the system board:

Symptoms of a broken power jack
1. If you wiggle the power cord or the AC Adapter connector on the back of the laptop, the power LED and battery charge LED start to flicker.
2. Battery will not charge in the laptop.
3. Laptop runs fine off a charged battery.
4. With the AC Adapter connected the laptop appears to be dead.
No power LED or battery charge LED activity.
5. Laptop randomly powers off without any warning.

If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by resoldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it

You need to reflash the OS on the phone you should take the battery out first then connect it via the usb cable to the laptop/pc you are using then open the blackberry desktop manager, click on the apploader, then install the OS.

pls not that when u click on the apploader the pin should be PIN:UNKNOWN you make need to do this like 4x before the pc sees the pin:unknown but it will work once it see the pin:unknown you can re-insert the battery and continue with reflashing the phone

Iphone Problem - unknown error 1024,

Marc - a new IPhone should come with a one year warranty -unless you purchased from someone and not from a store- Apple should look at the problem and replace it since your problem looks like it is hardware. Good luck!

Phantom Key Issue

This bug happens because on some machines (laptops) the keyboard key with the code “e02a” is for the hibernate key or perhaps another one is actuating with in the psftware pr may even be stuck all togerther. try using an external keybaord to see if you can overide the internal keyboard this maybe helpful at least to diagnose what it is you are doing since an older keyboard is hardware and doesn't have "unknown" keys so to speak
