Chamberlain Whisper garage door system that only closes 3/4...

Then pops back open. Nothing blocking sensors, though one sensor has either a green or yellow light at various times. Does this mean sensor has gone bad?

It depends on the type of sensor. Of you have a contact sensor, it needs replaced. If you have a photoeye, it needs to be adjusted. Some have a learn function on them.

One sensor should always be yellow, the other should be SOLID green.
If the lights are not consistently SOLID, you have a sensor issue.
TEST: If the door closes completely by pressing and holding down the wall pad button, you have a sensor problem.

Check to make sure the are aimed properly at each other.
Check the wire at the sensor and more importantly at the machine (If the wires are loose at the machine (terminals) it can cause this problem. Remember the machine does shake a lot.
If the wires are good, the sensors are aimed correctly, you have a sensor issue and need to loacte a replacement set.

Sensor setting was all the correction for me. I had to play with the sensor angle until i got a good signal (neither sensor blinking after opening or closing). After that was set, the problem seemed to be fixed!

The motor runs but it only opens a few inches and slowly goes back down its a chamberlain whisper drive model HD900D

Hi. I have seen this before, although usually not from chamberlain garage door openers.

Pull the release cord that unlocks the door from the opener, and manually open the door ALL the way open.

Then lock back in place in the open position.

Then use automatic opener to shut door.

It will close very slowly, but should close all the way.

Then, open the door again using the remote, and the door will once again open slowly, this time it should open all the way.

Then close door with remote, and door should now close as it is supposed, with the proper speed.

The slow opening and shutting is the system position sensor resetting itself.

This is why your door is acting up.

I would also look up by the belt drive connects to the front of the garage door opening, to make sure there isn't any dirt, cobwebs, or other obstructions on the sensor that may cause it to re-close the way it does.

My garage door will not open, the door gets close to the ground, then back up again. one sensor is green and other one yellow color. Please help me. My email- frooty2cute@yahoo.com

LUBE THE SPRINGS AND ROLLERS WITH WD40.

WATCH THE SENSOR LIGHTS TO SEE IF THEY GO OFF JUST BEFORE THE DOOR CLOSES. IF THIS IS THE PROBLEM EITHER ADJUST THE TRACK OR MOUNT THE SENSORS TO THE WALL INSTEAD.

IF THE SENSORS STAY LIT AND THE DOOR STILL REVERSES AFTER LUBE. ADJUST THE DOWN SENSITIVITY ABOUT 1/8 TURN AT A TIME (LESS SENSITIVE) ID YOU HAVE TO ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY MORE THAN 3/4 YOU WILL NEED TO CALL A PRO OUT TO CHECK THE PROBLEM.

HOPE THIS HELPS

My garage door will not close. The door gets close to the ground, then starts back up again and when it gets to the top the lights flash.

Just got off the phone from one of the rep's of Chamberlain...Go to the sensor that is blinking(it should be the one with the green light) loosen the sensor until the light goes out, then tighten it back up until the light come back on, and push the garage door opener. it should reset the unit.

Upon pressing open/close button kitchen door the garage starts to close but then reopens after 3-4". one must then hold button until door is fully closed. what is remedy?

The problem is that your system does NOT "see" the safety "eyes" sensors. Make sure that your sensors are properly connected to the opener (both sensors should have lights on them, one amber and another green). If they do not, check the wiring and the connections at the opener itself.

Door starts to open/close only travels 8" then reverses/stops

The problem is most likely with the safety "eyes" sensors. Your system does not see them. Rather than opening even without sensing the safety "eyes" sensors like most older system do, this model apparently has a safety feature built in, that without proper communication between the safety "eyes" sensors and the main console, the door will not operate at all. Some people had reported that in a situations like yours, if they the button on the remote pressed, the door will open/close, though this is not recommended.

How can I disconnect the motion detector on the Chamberlain 3/4 HPS Whisper Drive Plus Belt Drive Garage Door Opener with EverCharge

There is a button on the side of the wall-mounted remote. It has a pic of light bulb next to it. Press it once - the motion sensor is on and the lights will be on once it senses the motion; press it again and the motion sensor will be off.

The opener seems to want to continue closing the door once it hits the ground. Seems like the closing mechanism needs to be adjusted back closer the the garage door closer unit. This did not just...

Try to re-program travel and force limits. Make sure that travel limit (down) does not go too far (thus excessive force). Apparently this system has a force sensor that senses if there is something in the way of the door. This is different from the safety sensor "eyes". The problem in your setup is that you have programmed the door to travel down too much and he system looses its ability to use force sensor. Adjust travel limit (down) to a little less travel and you will be fine.
