Is there a way to turn off the speakers?

I want to run this into my stereo using surround speakers. Is there a way to turn off the built-in speakers?

Thanks for the info. As it turned out, the answer was right under my nose. Simply turning down the volume does not affect the output to the speakers.

There are several ways, you can either take apart the set and disconnect the speakers cables from the board or you can find and cut the power source where the audio chip amplifier is located that way the amplifier chip wont power on and will not feed the speakers

I have a 37" Olivia that one of the speakers emits a very harsh static. The speakers are actually turned off but this noise comes through the tv speakers anyway. I want to disconnect the tv speakers

Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

If internal speakers are turned off, CC may turn on by default.

I have checked cables and different methods of connecting, but the white and red audio out of my PVR appear to have stopped putting out sound.

Go through the setup of the PVR and check the sound settings. It sounds like it's only producing digital audio, that's why it works with HDMI but you want analog, so set the audio to stereo, or try every setting to see what works!

Headphone mode

Remove the headphone if its a wired one or turn of teh headset if its bluetooth. If the problem still persists then go into settings then sound and look of an option there. If you have an ipad, just turn of the airplay feature.

Portable DVD PLAYER: I don't get any audio. I'm batteried-up, plugged in, volume high, remote working, picture good -- just no audio. Any suggestions:

Maybe it has a failure in the audio amplifier, if there's no sound even with headphones or the internal speakers, if there's audio only with headphones.

Where can I purchase the Audio Video Connection for my dvd player I want to hook it up to my TV but can't find the correct cable Thank you Sandy

For the COBY TF-DVD7500, the video is carried on a single RCA plug cable. You can make due with a composite video cable (with three RCA plugs on each end) or get an RCA cable. The audio output can either be digital audio (which uses a special coax cable) or a headphone connector (analog audio).I believe the headphone jack is a 3.5 mm connector. If you use a composite video cable to your TV, you can connect the red and white plugs to an adapter (3.5 mm M to 2 RCA F). Then the TV speakers will get the audio track; otherwise you can use the DVD player speakers or the digital audio out.

I hope this helps.

Not enough volume forget about using it in the car---impossible. Can anything be done to improve

I assume you're listening without headphones since I think those would be loud enough. If you don't want to use headphones, purchase a speaker case to connect to the player. It will amplify the sound. We also use it to listen to shows on the computer. This is the one we have http://www.amazon.com/CD-Case-with-Built-in-Speakers/dp/B0009824MK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256616442&sr=8-2
