Hey,

On the laptop, make sure the wireless switch is turned to on, and that the wireless led is on.

not much else, then make sure its turned on in windows or the operating system you got installed on it and it should see the networks.

if not, then I suggest you get someone to look at it to confirm the problem.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

Need to add wirless to a Think pad264741U

This model Thinkpad does not have a built-in wireless card, you have to install an external wireless card.
SETTING UP A BROADBAND CONNECTION
First you need to decide what type of broadband and Internet service you require and these are -
1. DSL that uses your existing telephone line.
2. Cable that uses a cable service and can include a cable TV service.
3. A wireless 3G network uses the mobile/cell phone network and can be separate or combine with your cell phone account. This type of Internet connection uses an USB wireless device shaped like an USB memory stick.
Note - Combined services generally offer discount pricing and may include a modem/wireless router.

If you use a wireless router with the DSL or Cable Internet service then your laptop with a wireless card can then connect to the Internet. You can also connect to a free WiFi hot spots like McDonalds, Star Bucks, the Airport etc. using the wireless card in your laptop.
If you use the wireless 3G wireless broadband service, then you can access the Internet anywhere where your ISP has 3G wireless coverage. You need to check the service coverage area where you need Internet service.
Once you decide what type of broadband your require, then you need to check with the various Internet Service providers to see if they can offer and the cost of the various plans.
Note the download limits and the associated additional costs if you exceed the monthly download limits. Once you sign up with a Internet Service provider, their documentation will include setting up instructions and/or installation CD.

Lenovo r61e thinkpad wireless won't come on

Well there are many reasons but from what you've
said it can only be the Switch itself or your Router's
Firmware needs to be updated.

Go to Start: Type cmd in the command prompt Type
ipconfig press Enter look for the default gateway that's
your Routers IP Type the IP number into your Browsers
url or address bar press Enter. Once inside your Router
or Modem/Router view tabs and look for Update Firmware
Follow Prompts If this does not fix your problem then you
must further look into the Wireless Switch the Light is the
Switches Confirmation that it is Working Properly. Also
a
Driver will not cause this Function to not work and I know
you said the Drivers are Good and pls don't be Mad but has
the Adapter been Enabled with the Assumption your Computer has an RJ45 port for hard wiring.

Stay Positive and We'll Figure this Out.

This is worked for me on Vista:
1. Goto Network and Sharing Center.
2. Click on your Wireless Connection "View Status".
3. Click on Propertes.
4. Uncheck the option that says "Internet Protocol Version 6"

When I did this, my wireless began working again.

My 802.11 WAN adapter seems to have "disappeared"

Hello,

Here is a link to IBM's website for trouble shooting the wireless adapter

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-50402

From the above link:

Some systems come with a Wireless Radio switch to disable the wireless radios. The wireless radio switch is usually located on the front side of the machine. If you are having difficulties with wireless connections, make sure the Wireless Radio switch is set in the On position.

I hope this helps.

Best of luck!!

How to configure a wireless connection

Hi friend,

firstly make sure if you user Windows XP , you install service pack 3 in your system before the wireless configuration, this is not necessary but it protect your system  against hackers,If you user Windows Vista you need to install Service pack 1.
many wireless technologis in market like 802.11a and 802.11g,most popular is 802.11g.firstly you need some necessary equipment for wireless network technology-
1-Wireless router
2-wireless network adapter
3- Broadband Internet connection
firstly unplug the cable modem, connect your wireless router to your modem, your computer will through wireless connect to your router, and the router will send communications through your modem to the Internet.
turn on the system and open Internet Explorer and type in the address to configure your router. You might be prompted for a password. The address and password you use will vary depending on what type of router you have, so refer to the instructions included with your router.
The exact steps you follow to configure these settings will vary depending on the type of router you have. After each configuration setting, be sure to click Save Settings, Apply, or OK to save your changes.
I think this is helpful to you.

Thanks,
