Question about Printers & Copiers

Printer driver problem

We have an ImageRunner C3080i. We use it with a couple of Mac Pros. We recently had to reinstall system software on both of our computers, and now using the Canon has become the bane of our workday. PAper feed problems, screwed up type. We had a postscript driver installed originally, but are now totally confused about which driver to use, how to install, etc. Our IT department throws up its hands and the company who sold it to us just says "it's the driver".

Epson xp 200

Hi -- A couple of ideas.

My scanner never works if computer is in hibernate mode so make sure computer is fully on and not in any sort of standby mode.

If you upgraded your operating system since you first did it, try uninstalling the printer and the software and then reinstall the Epson software and printer in the order in your get started guide

For the USB problem, make sure it is the Epson USB cord and shut down your system and then turn it on with this cord attached.

if it is a MAC, do not use OS X Classic mode

If none of those work, it is time to call in the pros and call Epson

Can't specify fold/sadle stitch when "print booklet"

To be honest, this is a tough question-- First, if an older driver works-- go ahead and try switching back to the new drivers now, something may have gotten broken in the update.

Second-- with the recient updates to MAC OSX, it may be and incompatibility with the vendors driver and the OS itself... In that case, contact the vendors Forums as well as the Apple forums. Also good to see if others have had similar issues, and if there's any resolution.

A little google will do ya good-- and if you find anything, post the results, and I'll see what I can find.

Cannot scan from HP 6500 E709n (No Scan Options). I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.6. I lost my disc and maunal. And I recently had my Hard drive replaced. So this was lost in the process. Can I get a free...

You can, and it's really easy!
Go to this site and download the software under drivers called "HP Officejet and Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v 10.6".
Unplug your all in one printer/scanner and install the program. Then plug the printer/scanner back in and it should work fine - you'll have all the options you had previously.

When I try to scan from printer to computer I get 'scan error'. See documentation. I am trying to scan to a mac - does that matter?

You need to use the grey cd to install the software onto your Mac if you have not already done so. If you don't have the Mac CD you can download the installation software and all drivers from HP here (select your operating system first).

If you have installed it aready, try uninstalling and then reinstalling using the HP website to obtain the updated drivers etc. rather than your CD.

Once you have uninstalled the software, disconnect your printer and then restart your computer. Do not re-connect your printer until you have reinstalled the software.

To verify that the software has installed properly, look for the HP Solution Centre on your desktop, double click on the icon and check that both "scan picture" and |"scan document" are showing.

Hope that helps!

Mac upgrade means Xerox printer won't print!

There are apparently incompatibilities between some Xerox drivers and the security-improved Snow Leopard. It seems that many pieces of software (and drivers) relied on not-so-clean techniques to cut corners while operating. These techniques are no longer allowed by Snow Leopard (the same problem afflicts XP SP3, Vista and Seven).

This article lists several problems, explanation and (perhaps) fixes:

http://www.ucalgary.ca/it/news/4366

Meanwhile, Apple is working to some workarounds too (there is an update linked in the article which may be of interest to you).

Printer drivers fuji pictography 4500 mac 10.5.6

On the link below there are all drivers available for your printer, if you do not find MAc OS 10.5, then try 10.3x, if printer still does not work, then it is not compatible with this system.

11x17 Landscape will only print 1 page then switches to Portrait

I found an acceptable workaround. If I leave the paper size set to "defined by driver" in the Print dialog box and chose the paper size in the Page Set Up dialog box, that seems to do it. There were numerous complaints on the web about this and it seems to be a major glitch in CS3 with the Leopard OS.

I did a search of your product's help pages on HP.com but didn't come up with an exact match for your error message relevant to an Apple Mac OS X. Before offering suggestions, let me make sure I understand the problem.

You have a Word document open on your Mac and you want to insert an image into the document that's on the scanner.

I'm actually not clear as to whether you successfully scanned an image in the first place. If you did scan the image, where did you store it to? Have you tried scanning the image and saving it to your computer? If you can do this successfully, try inserting the image into your Word document from the location on your computer.

If you tried to scan an image and got the error message, then there is a communication problem between your Mac and the printer. Since you can print, the cable connection must be good. If the error message is suggesting that you reinstall the drivers, you can find the instructions for how to do this at the following web page at HP.com:

Installing and Uninstalling Printer Software on your Mac

You may or may not have your original software disc that came with the printer. If you don't or if you need an updated print driver, you can download that software from the following web page, assuming you are running Mac OS X:

Mac OS X Printer Software and Driver Downloads

Occasionally, you can solve errors by installing print drivers that are more recent than those you originally installed when you first got your printer. That's the benefit of downloading the latest drivers from HP.

On the off change you are using Mac OS 9, here's the relevant software download page (the version of the Mac operating system matters):

Mac OS 9 Printer Software and Driver Downloads

If all you want to do is to insert an image into a Word document, you shouldn't need Adobe Photoshop or any other expensive software application. You aren't trying to do any fancy editing of the graphic, just insert a pre-existing image into a document.

I hope some of the above suggestions help. Post back your results and good luck.

Communication error

Marky12, if the printer works fine on the vista system then you can eliminate a hardware fault. sounds like a driver or install issue. remove the printer completely from the mac (uninstall software, drivers and unplug) then go to epson.com, choose your countrey and head to the support and downloads section. Get the latest drivers for mac/tiger and reinstall the printer (make sure you have restarted the mac in between uninstall and reinstall) and most important !!! dont plug in the usb cord until the driver install tells you to
Good luck
