About my washer problem, the next morning I unplugged it, the lid did open, but it didn´t work at all. The problem now is not the door. It doesn´t wash, or spin or anything.

  • efriasg Feb 17, 2009

I already did it, but nothing. It just turn the panel lights on, but it doesn´t start any cycle. Can I unlugged the pc board to see if reset?

  • efriasg Feb 17, 2009

Sorry, but your answer isn´t useful. I already disconected it and nothing happens. I need to know how to fix it, or exactly know what the problem is.

Hi,

I have read your posts and the solutions given. I believe the unit did not complete the Drain/Spin cycle properly. In order to correct this problem, follow the listed steps in the order listed.

  1. Close the door and press the power button (turn unit on).
  2. Press and hold the Pause/cancel button for 10 sec.
  3. Select Drain/spin.
  4. Press and hold the Start button for 10 sec, or until unit starts.
When the unit starts, allow it to complete its cycle before using.

If the unit does not start, let meknow.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Hi,
make sure the sprayer holes in the spray arms are clean. Grains of rice seem to be a dishwashers biggest enemy as they don't desolve and eventually end up lodged in the spray holes. The holes at the end of the spray arms are the ones responsible for the washing out of the soap powder from the dispenser, if they are blocked this does not happen.

Thanks

Hi,
Leave the washer after disconnecting the power for some time and the again check what is happening.
Might be there is some loose connection inside because of what it is hapenning so get it checked after this DIY.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

There could be several reasons why door could not be opened:

  • the logic controller of the washer is in between cycles and has determined that it has not finished and therefore there has not drain yet. In-between cycle would prevent door being opened;
  • faulty door lock;
  • water not draining or logic controller sense (even erroneously) that there is still water and prevents door opening.
If you are considering a DIY (do-it-yourself), an exploded diagram of the door and latch assembly would be helpful. All other parts and diagrams are available here.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Hi

No the latch is not stuck, this is a protection mechanism, it takes around 20 minutes or more for the washer to unlock the door after its completed its cycle.

the program may have become stuck. I suggest you contact a washer repairer, or click repost to possibly find a washer repairer from this website.

This happens quite often on wirpools, is a door latch defect.

First empt all the water inside the machine by accessing the drain hose (there is a panel in front of machine), and see if door unlocks afterward.

Either the solenoid that activates door lock is broken, or the door latch had lost connection because of vibration.

The unlock job if reset did not wor consists in accessing the door latch wiring by taking lid off and getting inside the machine, and energize the lock directly.

    Washing machine door won't open

    See here on the problem.

See here how to replace the door latch afterward: Fixitnow.com Samurai Appliance

Generally, if the lock does not open by resetting and emptying the machine from water, the repair job may be complicate and is better to call a technician.

Always unplug machine from power when you try to fix it.

Try unplugging the washer for 120 minutes and then plug it back in, this may reset the washer software program and clear the problem./

Washer does not go through the spin cycle

while the machine is empty and in the spin cycle open the lid and hold down the lid switch spin the basket with your hand if it spins slowly you probably have a worn out clutch.

When we start Washing Machine it takes the water as it required but agitator does not work & not spining. Please tell me the reason & also solution of the said problem. Thanks &...

the lid safety switch is bad, this switch located under the lid kills the power to the machine when you open the lid during any cycle, but the fill cycle for obvious safety reasons, remove 2 screws from the control panel, then 2 brass colored clips under this panel with a screw driver, then unplug a connector from the top of the unit, this is the lid safety switch, you can try bypassing 2 of the 3 wires that go from this plug to the control panel which will be either black or white or gray wires, but leave the green wire (usually found in the middle or on one end of this connector) alone as this is the ground wire, then if the washer runs by jumping the other 2 wires, then replace the switch by tilting the cabinet towards you all the way to the floor and replacing this switch under this cabinet but (be careful when bypassing this switch( if you try it) as when its plugged in there is 120 volts across these wires)

My Kenmore Elite Oasis HE model number: 110.27072603 washing machine shows LID error code. It wont work at all.... went half way through cycle... help.

Greetings,
this washer has a lid switch problem...or possible main board failure, but lid does concentrate on the lid safety switch. If you remember when you open the lid it stops..well, its a safety feature and prevents tub from spinning with lid open...this one is more difficult to service if your not use to working on washers...try unplugging machine and leaving off for awhile...does the door lock? check switch for lid fault

Kenmore washing maching

If the washer fills and doesn't do anything, or stops right after the wash cycle and then does not advance to the rinse cycle and drain, this is commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models, or under the washer casing by one of the lid hinges. It will be activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening, or by a hinge rod depressing an actuator. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact (if equipped), and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim, or under the operator console) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch

If the switch requires replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, pcappliancerepair.com, repairclinic.com, appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All these sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all them for the best price.

If you have questions, please post back with your complete model number and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Will not drain/spin. Yesterday, the load was out of balance...

Try unplugging the washer and let the curcuit board reboot. Unplug for 5 min. Then try moving the selector to spin to drain the washer. Sometime selecting too many modes trying to get something working can confuse the electronics. Reboot the curcuit board and try just spin cycle.
