This is normal behavior for a Miele machine, it is a safety feature. You have to clean it.
Use the cleaning tabs you have that came with your machine, if you don't have anymore, get them here
Clean the machine normally by opening the machine up, removing the storage tray, and dropping the tablet down the ground coffee shoot and letting the machine lead you through the cleaning.
Hope this helps.

How do i clean the brew head of the FFx1. It says in the instructions to put the tablet into the filter holder and run the water through but with the machine off and cold, how can this work??

The water alone will not do much for cleaning but it will rinse it between daily use.

To actually clean the machine, I use a cleaning product such as clear1x1.gifJoe Glo - Espresso Machine Backflush Detergent.

The tricky part is the actual cleaning, first your going to want to clean the tank, and dump that out. Then re-fill the tank with cleaning product and run it through the machine. After cleaning run water through at least twice. If you don't do this you will just force the gunk from the tank into the head, clogging it worse.

Additionally they make a brush for scrubbing the head, if needed.
Sometimes when I don't have the detergent I just use white vinegar.

Enjoy your espresso machine.

How are you doing the clean cycle ?
You should put a tablet in the coffee grounds front lid.
Push the clean button on the inside front panel.
The machine will ask you to open tap and empty tray along the way.
Make sure it does the full cycle.

How do i clean the machine i have a jura cleaning tablet....does this work with the machine and what do I do with it?

There are 2 different types of cleaning tablets. 1 is for descaling the boiler,
and the other is for cleaning the brewing system. You don't have a jura brewing system, so make sure that it is for descaling the machine before you use it.

Capresso s8 weak coffee

You should probably run a cleaning cycle with a cleaning tablet (the one you drop into the ground coffee shoot, not a decalcifying tab).
This will clean out all the insides where coffee particles and oil can accumulate.
The machine will ask you to run a cleaning cycle after a certain number of cups brewed. But you can also manually start it.

(this is copied from the manual)

You can run a tablet cleaning cycle at anytime even if
the machine does not prompt you,
• READY. Push and hold the Rinse button until display shows
RINSE. The Dial illuminates.
• Turn the Dial until display shows CLEANING. Push the Dial.
Display shows EMPTY DRAWER.
(Follow the rest of instructions for regular cleaning cycle)

Impressa S7 "Clean Machine"

I had this problem and I solved it by letting the machine dry out overnight. Before I turned it back on I removed the drawer and wiped the area inside the internal flap then I used the pressurized air that you use to clean a computer and blew out all of the residue. It has worked well since then.
