How do i get my camera to start up help?

First, do you know for sure it was working when you bought it?
Second, are your batteries all good?
Third, make sure you have all the batteries installed the right direction.
Finally, make sure the compartment door is properly shut.
I really don't know much about cameras, just advising of some of the basic things I would double and triple check first.

My digicam won't start

There could be a couple of reasons why your camera would not start.

Before considering it to be defective, verify that the camera has batteries inside and that these batteries are charged. To do this:

  1. Locate and open the battery compartment.
  2. Identify the type of batteries needed and purchase new ones OR
  3. Recharge the batteries with the recharger provided.
  4. Place the new/charged batteries inside, closing the battery compartment.
  5. Try to turn on the camera.
If the camera still doesn't work after verifying that the batteries are in order, remove the memory card and any other accessories that the camera may have and try turning it on again.

If still the camera won't turn on, one last step can be performed if and only if your camera uses standard batteries (AA or AAA). If this step is performed incorrectly, you could short circuit the batteries, which would discharge them. This procedure will not damage the camera if performed correctly. Please pay attention and do exactly as explained:
  1. Locate and open the battery compartment.
  2. Remove the batteries.
  3. Place the batteries back inside in the opposite direction than the one indicated. If the position indicated is for the positive end first, place the battery with the negative end first. Do this process for all the batteries.
  4. Close the battery compartment.
  5. Attempt to turn on the camera. It will not turn on, but this step is necessary nonetheless.
  6. Open the battery compartment.
  7. Remove the batteries.
  8. Place the batteries in the correct position according to the indication.
  9. Close the battery compartment.
  10. Attempt to turn on the camera.
If the camera still does not work, it is likely that it is defective. At this point you should take the camera to an authorized service center.

Battery exhausted

Hi,

You don't mention anything other than battery exhausted but this could be for a few reasons. Obviously the L20 Coolpix uses standard AA batteries so they need to be replaced with fresh new ones when they start to run down.

If you use rechargeable AA batteries then there will be a point that the batteries no longer "hold" a charge and they will also need replacing.

If the batteries are fresh and the camera is running them down very quickly then you will need to get it professionally looked at for repair, I would imagine though that a repair would cost more than the L20 is now worth.

Hope this helps, please rate my help if it does. Thanks

Lens error 115, 0 0 215

Kodak usually points to underpowered batteries as being the culprit of lens errors like that. They generally point to using Kodak brand digital camera AA batteries. You can do that, but I usually recommend Varta Brand. Sold mostly in camera stores and in small quantities, so they are usually VERY fresh - and they are designed for the high powered needs of a digital still camera.

But if it's under warranty, I'd send it in to get looked at anyway. Go over to KODAK.com and get into their support webpage and have a "chat" with a rep. They'll point you in the right direction.
