Question about Noritz 7.1 Gpm Natural Ng Gas Tankless Hot Water Heater

Noritz tankless water heater/dishwasher not hot enough to clean

We have a Noritz tankless water heater that we installed 2 years ago. Our showers and clothes washer seem to function fine. It is our dishwasher that seems to take forever to clean a load of dishes. We let the sink faucet run until the water is hot then turn on the dishwasher while it is running...to insure there is hot water to start the load. The load still takes forever to wash and I'm not sure how sanitized the load actually is at the end.
Has anyone else had a problem between their tankless water heater and their dishwasher?

You are doing everything you can. Your dishwasher probably isn't drawing enough hot water to activate the unit so opening the faucet and flowing more water will activate the unit. Just try to adjust the flow from the faucet to a point it, plus the draw from the dishwasher, will activate the unit. This will come with trial and error as I am sure you have already experienced. Also, open the dishwasher when it does get filled and check the water temperature. You might have the unit set at a low discharge temperature. Do you have a touchpad to control the water temperature adjustment?

I have a noritz tankless hot water heater and am convinced the dishwasher is not being supplied sufficient hot water. I have noticed at the kitchen sink, when the water is not on full blast the hot water is luke warm. The noritz is still running and says 120 degrees, but the water is just luke warm(if the flow rate is not full blast). My dishes are never clean!!! Is there a solution to this dishwasher delima???

Noritz NR98-DVC tankless water heater won't give hot water thru a single valve fixture. Gives us all the hot water we want on a double handled fixture. Any suggestions on what to do?

Replace single-handled faucet cartridge, and see if hot flows to that faucet again.

Noritz tankless gas water heater. Hot water pressure is low. Unit does not "click" on when hot water is opened. No hot water.

Hi,
The unit is plugged up with mineral buildup from the water going through it... it will need to be cleaned internally....this is done by running an acid solution through it to clean out the mineral buildup...

Then it will work again...

It turns on ,starts to get warm. Then turns off

Sounds like you have a problem with water flow. Since your ground water is warmer in the summer, you mix less hot and more cold in order to get the same warm temperature. If your hot water flow gets low enough, your tankless will start to "short cycle" in order to prevent scalding. Use one of these three methods to increase your water flow at the shower:

1) Clean your shower head and descale
2) Widen the hole in the showerhead's flow restrictor
3) Remove your flow restrictor entirely

Good luck!

Difficult to turn the water heater

step one... remove from wall
step two... throw in dumpster
step three... purchase and install a quality tankless water heater.

Rinnai, takagi, Noritz are the only brands I install now. Aquastar (Bosch) always had problems, then purchased by Bosch but never fixed the problems, just put their name on it and sold them at Lowes or home depot.
Garbage!

How do you fix hot water shuts off during shower with Model N-069M-OD installed December 2006?

Try flowing more hot water with your shower. During the summer you end up mixing alot of cold water and very little hot water (because your cold ground water isn't so cold in the summer). When you get close the minimum flow rate of the appliance, it will start to short cycle (fire on and off). Here's some recommended things you can do:

1) Clean the shower head - remove scale deposits and or clogging
2) Widden flow restrictor - most shower heads have a flow restrictor on the back of the showerhead; It consists of a rubber washer with a hole in the center. You can widen the hole using a drill bit.
3) remove the flow restrictor - this should be a last resort

If the unit is functioning properly, then you need to contact your utility company to see about upgrading the size of the gas line and meter to your house, and possibly the lines IN th house. It may be cheaper to go back to a tank type water heater despite the potential energy savings with a tankless.
