Hi, Canon creates a folder in 'my pictures' named MP Navigator where it stores yours scans. You can change it. When you scan a picture just click on 'browse' & choose the folder you want them to be saved in. If this helps you plz rate this as 'fixa', if you need further help leave a comment & I'll be happy to help. Thank you kindly.

I have a HP Photosmart 2575 xi all in one printer and I need to be able to scan documents and photos. I have no idea how to do it. How do you scan these things. I use the printer and the copier but have...

1. Turn on your computer, wait for it to boot up, then turn on the printer.
2 Double click the "HP Photo Imaging Director" icon on your desktop ( placed there when your
printer was installed on your computer ). A menu screen will appear showing the scanning
options of the printer.
3 Place your document or photo on the printer's glass top and close the lid.
4 From the menu screen, click on " Scan Picture " or " Scan Document "
When "Scan Document" is selected, a secondary screen will appear from which you will have to
make choices. After making your decisions, click "Scan" from the listed screen.
When "Scan Picture" is selected, one scanning pass will be performed, another pass will be
made after you view the result of the first pass.
Scanned pictures will go to the HP Photo Gallery and your "My Picture" folder.
Scanned documents will go to your "My Documents" folder.
Good Luck with your scanning operations!!

I have a canon mp830. When scanning to pc, the MS Publisher app opens (or is suggested to open) which is fine, but no image comes across. It does not appear that the scanner is working although it copier...

When the Publisher application opens sometimes you have to manually scan the image from the software. When you press scan from the printer this only prompts the Pc to chose a program to open the image with. Allow the publisher app to fully open and look for an icon that says scan now or something similar then you should be able to see the document in the publisher software.

My Officeject 7410 is recognised by Windows 7 as a printer only but I cannot seem to get the scanner recognised - any ideas

go to computers >> go to c: >> go to program file >> go to hp>> go to digital imaging >> go to bin >> inside bin look for something that says hpqscinapp.exe >> double click on it and it will give you the scanning screen and if it scans from there that means the software is not working and will have to reinstall the software and if it still does not scan from ther elook at the bottom of the screen in the syste, tray that whether you see a green icon with a tick mark on it if it is there .good and if not there then follow the steps >> 1. go to programs under control panel
2.uninstall hp DIGITAL IMAGING , uninstall HP SOLUTION CENTER >> restart the computer >> put in th software cd for the printer >> click on the tab that says install more software >> select HP SOLUTION CENTER >> and select imaging device function after solution center is installed from the tab and if it i not there do not worry >> go ahead and try to scan it should scan >> if it still does not scan try to make a copy and see whether it is copying or not if it does not copy........... press the scan button and see whether the scanner glass in the printer is moving or glowing if nothing happens it is the problem with the printer cl;l hp let them know and if the printer is still under warranty they will replace it .................... THANK YOU

Scaanner bed, where does it go?

Please follow the steps given below to scan a document:

1. Go to "Start," "All Programs," Lexmark printer, "Lexmark All-in-One Center."
To see how an image will look after it is scanned, click "Preview Now."
2. Click "Scan," "Send scanned image to".

If scanning an image, choose a graphics program such as "Lexmark Photo Editor," "MS Paint," etc.
If you wish to "Scan to OCR," choose a text program such as "MS Word," "WordPad," etc.
Once the image is scanned, the "Abbyy OCR" software will open automatically.

3. To begin the scanning process, click "Scan Now."
4. To view the additional options, click "See More Scan Settings."
To indicate what type of image is being scanned, select the "Option" next to the type of object you are scanning. Your settings will be optimized for that object type.
To indicate how the scan will be used, select the relevant option from the menu. Your resolution and other settings will be optimized based on your selection.
5. To revert back to the normal All-in-One main page, click "Hide Extra Scan Settings."
6. Under "Display Advanced Scan Settings" you can see change settings, which will affect the outcome of your scan.

My scanner is sending my scans as images not text.

you must convert to text, most scans save as pdf or tiff (yours is most likely a tiff) choose save as... and change extension to .wrd or .doc

Do not scan black color

When scanning small or very dark images, its a good idea to place the item to be scanned on the glass, then place 8.5x11 white paper over the top of it.
This gives the scan software "edges" that it can recognize, and once scanned the image can be "cropped" to remove the white from its border.
This has worked on all (4) the different brands I use.
