Re: tp55f80 tv. to much red on screen
You have a convergence failure. It may be possible to simply re-solder the pin connections under the convergence output ICs as they have a tendency to develop cold solder joints which cause intermittent mis-convergence. If the solder connections are good, then replacment of the ICs will be necessary. Expect to pay $350-450 to have a toshiba servicer fix this.

The problem is probably that one or both of the STK convergence chips have failed. These control the convergence coils around the red blue and green guns and are the most common cause of sudden convergence problems and the protection circuit shutting the TV down when turned on.
I can post details of how I replaced these on my Toshiba 40WH08B. Yours should be similar.
the biggest mistake I did with this tv.all tubes need to be replaced and it burns a hole in ur pocket.no guarantee on tubes, sony aware of the problem but didnot recall these defective sets.
Replace both convergence ICs number STK392-020 you can get replacements at the following link and they provide free instructions woth pictures so you can do the repair yourself. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
Bill, the picture tells the story, you`ve lost convergence, either the convergence IC`s have failed or theres a slight chance that one of the convergence plugs got partially pulled out when you moved the set, of course the latter would be the easy fix, remove the back of the set and check all the plugs by pushing down on them or of course if you see one laying out of the plug just plug it back in. If the IC`s have failed or possibly the solder is broken on the IC`(s) and you are proficient with a soldering iron you can try re-soldering the pins, be prepared to lay on the floor for awhile there are 18 pins on each IC. check the plugs first (unplug the AC cord first), let me know if you know how to solder & unsolder and we`ll go from there, not much room on here to type in everything in one reply.
