Error message - Replace/Install Waste Toner Tank

You need to replace the waste toner tank.Open the front cover and on the left side in the gray waste toner tank. You can pull it out and replace it with an empty one or you can try to empty it and reinstall the tank. If you empty it, you have to make sure the parts of the tank where the sensor checks to see if it is full is clean. Otherwise it will generate the same error again. You need a cotton swab to clean the sensor ports of the tank so that the light can shine into it. Hope this helps.

I have a samsung clp500 color printer but it is not working .it show only waste tank is full/ not instaled what should i do.

The "waste tank" is located behind the front panel that has the SAMSUNG name on it. Press on the upper corners of this panel and it will open up to reveal a clear plastic tank on the right side.

This tank pulls out easily and has two holes for excess toner to flow into it.

Look at the side of the tank that has the holes. You should see a part of the tank that extends out from the tank but ends in a clear square. The waste tank sensor "looks" thru this clear plastic square to determine if the tank is full. I.e. if toner is in this area and you cannot clearly see thru both sides, the sensor will tell the printer that the tank is full and needs to be changed.

If the tank is not full, use a long cotton swab and clean out the inside of this area. Once you can see thru both sides, carefully replace the tank back into the printer and turn the printer back on.

If done properly, the error should go away and you should be able to continue printing. I have doen this and it works fine.

(Some posts have had people cut this part of the tank off and simply tape over the hole that is made with strong tape. This bypasses the sensor and would allow the printer to run again. I have not done this as I do not want the possibility of toner spilling in my office.)

Exception:

The sensor could be bad and causing the issue. If this is the case, it may be cheaper to purchase a new printer - CLP-620 ND is a duplex, networked color laser jet that is selling from frys.com for $315.

My printer keeps putting these annoying black lines on my docs. I have an important paper to print and I cant have black lines on it! UGH! I tried dusting and cleaning the drum and restarting the computer...

As you talk of a drum, I take it you have a laser printer. You say you have checked the drum. Without knowing the model, sometimes the waste holder gets full and will cause this. Some carts have the waste holder just below the toner holder in the cart, and others have a separate waste tank.
Always run the printer on the leanest setting that will print well. Stay away from the rich settings as they waste toner and fill the waste tank needlessly, leading to a needed cleaning.
The lines can be waste toner getting printed rather than going into the waste tank.

My RX620 seems to be flushing out it's ink. I have refillable ink cartrides and a chip resetter. I just refilled all cartridges, cleaned the heads a couple of times and now yellow is empty and others are...

I'd wager that your problem is not so much the printer as your cartridges themselves.

I'm not sure how you're handling refilling or how your cartridges are designed but here's a few tips.

1. Never refill a cartridge while it's still in the printer. The exit port is held open and would allow ink to flow out as it is added to the cartridge. It could then soil the underside of the printhead and promote a clog or help create a syphon which would empty the thing.

2. You need to make sure that only the standard vent hole is left open and that the fill hole is sealed shut as well as ensuring no other leaks. The more air that can get in, the more likely the ink will be able to leak out as air replaces it.

3. If you have installed an external waste ink tank (I don't think you have based on what you've said) then you need to ensure it's on the same level as the printer as it can create a syphon or backflow effect depending on whether lower or higher than the printer.

My guess is that your cartridges are possibly of naff quality and you need to find something more reliable.

As to the waste ink pads... I'd definitely start thinking about external waste tank just to ensure you don't flood the printer to the point of leaks and/or damage to the components inside.

Hope that helps.

Waste motor error

The wate motor transfers (you guess it) waste toner to the waste toner bottle. If the bottle fills up, the motor cannot transfer more waste to it. This is rare, for the printer should ask for a new waste toner bottle when the previous one fills. However,it happens frequently when users try to empty and clean the bottle instead of replacing it.

Waste toner tank

A few things can cause this.

The way the printer determines whether the waste tank is full is via 2 optical sensors, one on either side of the tank. You'll see a rounded bulge on one end of the tank - the sensors are on either side of that, when the tank is installed. Under normal operation, light passes through that and the printer reads it as meaning the tank is not full, until the tank fills far enough to fill that bulge, and thus block light and give a tank full reading.

If the tank gets too dirty, not enough light passes through and it gives false tank full readings. So the first thing to try is cleaning the tank with soap and water. Make sure that area is as clear as possible.

If that doesn't work, it has also been reported that the sensors themselves are unreliable. I am told Samsung will replace the sensor for free if it's been less than 3 years. If you call them, insist that it is the sensor that is the problem, or they will try to get you to replace the waste bin, at your expense, first: 1-800-726-7864.

Alternatively, you can remove the sensor from one side, and reattach it to the other side - putting the two sensors in contact so that they always read an empty waste tank. Do this at your own risk, however, as you will have to check the tank regularly and make sure it doesn't overflow. Doing this bypasses the sensor, so there is no longer any warning if your tank is overflowing.

Hope some of that helps you.

If a new waste toner bottle is in place, then the printer needs a new motor, which can only be purchased through an Authorized Service Center.
