Question about Epson Stylus CX7800 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I'm not sure what is wrong with the CX7800. It was working fine one night and the next it was caput. I changed all 4 cartridges and still did not fix the problem.
Also I cannot scan as well. The memory card slots work, thank god.
I tried everything in the manual but still get no print.
What seems to be left is emptying the ink pad. How do I do this?
To check if the waste pad is the culprit you would normally get an error message from the status monitor software or on the printer itself telling you that a service was required or parts have reached the end of their service life.
If that's true you can further confirm it by resetting the waste ink counter using a reset utility.
If you're in North America and have the serial number (usually printed on a label on the back) you can go to this site:
... and fill out the form (making sure you read the warnings and small print) and request the utility for your model.
If you're OUTSIDE of North America then the SSC utility will also work (google: "ssc epson reset") using the protection counter functions.
At this point, because I don't know that particular model personally I couldn't say with any certainty that the problem is the waste ink pads but it can't hurt to try.
Hope this helps.
