I did tak it apart and cleaned. I saw the pointer move erraticly at on time, now it does not move. I used in different PC's, same issue. No light as far as I can see. however under the track ball is a window that after inspecting I did see a round window. Does a light come out of that?

I took it apart only to inspect the components. No visual damage The mouse was dropped at one time but still worked.

You don't have to take it apart to clean it. The ball is designed to be removed from the unit by releasing it from the bottom of the control. Then you just simply clean off the red area with a cloth. Do not use alchohol on the surface. It could damage the unit.

Frozen cursor

The only reason your cursor would "freeze" is your CPU is running at 100%. Press "control-alt-delete" keys at the same time and find the process that overloading the CPU and close it.
If you cursor never moves, your glidepad is broken. Do you have a "stick" to move your cursor? Many Thinkpads do. Usually have a red cap on it and is located near the b g h keys. If the stick doesn't work either, it's the overloaded CPU problem.

G netbook cursor moves way too fast but i find no way to slow it down. apparently the solution is not in the help file.

The touchpad is very small on this netbook, so the ratio between the finger movement and cursor movement has to be high in order to be able to move the cursor from one side of the screen to the opposite.

The cursor cannot be too slow, because you would have to glide the finger several times on the touchpad to move it across the whole screen.

However, the speed of the cursor can be adjusted in the mouse properties in Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Mouse) in the Pointer Options tab. Experiment with different settings to find one that suits you.

With such small touchpad I would suggest forming a habit of rocking the finger on the touchpad to achieve better precision and control, instead of sliding it. Put a finger on the touchpad center and tilt it left/right, up/down - You'll see that the cursor can be controlled quite well this way. And if you need a larger movement, then it's enough to move the finger the normal way.

Good luck and please come back with a rating/testimonial if helped.

My letters are way to small i cabbot read them

Go to: start, control panel, display, settings, set Color quality to 32 bit and move the screen resolution cursor toward less or more, example: 1152 by 864 or 1024 by 768 click apply then ok. Every time you move the cursor you need to click, on apply to see the result.

Automatically cursor jumps . When we type in the cursor automatically moves fromm one place to another

Hi,
I presume you have a touchpad under your keyboard.
Usually the hand position when you type is such, that it's very easy to involuntarily lighlty touch the touchpad with the base of your thumb, usually the right one, when you move the hand over the touchpad, mostly in the up-left direction.
This causes the cursor to move to some other place, usually up and to the left, resulting in the next characters you type being put in that place :)
Try to keep your hands a little bit more above the touchpad when you type. Also, many touchpad drivers have settings for ignoring light touches/drags, try looking into these settings in your pointing device properties.
As an aid, I would recommend a soft gel wrist support, which automatically elevates your palms above the keyboard.
