Workcentre M15i won't turn on after poss outlet short
M15i was plugged in while in "on" position. It flipped breaker. Outlets working fine but cannot turn on machine. There is no "reset" button visible. Closest service is over 60 miles away. What do you suggest?
No go. Tried that before. Outlet is definitely working. Is there an internal reset button or breaker? No go. Tried that before. Outlet is definitely working. Is there an internal reset button or breaker?
Thanks for the info. However, that is if the machine is on. Juice isn't getting that far. I still think there is a reset button, internal breaker, etc. Keep smilingThanks for the info. Each outlet receives power from previous outlet box or switch box in a long chain of parallel wiring back to ceiling box, or junction box, and then back to circuit breaker. Use process-of-elimination to find problem. Locate all boxes on same circuit breaker. Locate box before the two dead boxes... it can be in ceiling light, or switch box, or outlet box. Then test those wires. Look for loose quick connect where wires are pushed into hole on back of device, or loose white wires twisted together and shoved to back of box. http://waterheatertimer.org/See-inside-main-breaker-box.html http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-switches.html Gene
First off do you have anything plugged in to any of the outlets that are on that breaker? If so unplug and try resetting the breaker again. If not you may have a faulty plug. Go to lowes or a good hardware store and buy you a circuit tester for plugs they make them that plug in and have lights that will light up and give the error or what is wrong with that plug. It sounds like your overloading the breaker.
Ur Main Fuses in the circuits breaker box must be to be restart it back.Turn off/on all the fuses on the main circuits breaker box to all the fuses in the box of the box to restart. All ur electical power outlets should work again. If not those power plug in outlets are shorted and dead must have to be replaced.
I just recently fixed the same problem, and it turned out to be a bad outlet or plug in. Starting with the farthest room that is dark remove the outlets one by one and look for a blackened one. Replace it and repair any burnt wiring with some shrink tube to make sure it will not short out. You can get a tester for less than $10 that looks like a square pen and will let you know if there is power present just by placing it next to wiring or outlets. When in doubt, turn off everything!
did any outlets stop working, mat be a tripped or bad breaker in elect. panel she if one breaker is tripped. flip off and back on, could se short in fan but unlikely. if cannot see tripped breaker, turn off computor, tv, any appliance you have on and go down breakers and flip off and back on. if a short is present one breaker will trip back off. call repair
