Question about Sanyo PLC-XU73 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Laptop is not being connected

Hey guys,
We have this PLC-xu73 at University. It is used by M.A students for pps presentations.
However, the problem is that the projector won't work with all of our laptops.
It does work with some but not all the laptops connected to it. I will be really thankful if anyone can help, because I have a presentation soon, and it seems it won't work with my laptop.
ps: if there's a driver, then it is not available at university for some reason. They say they lost the manual and driver.

THE PIN CONNECTION MAYBE DIFFERENT IN THE OTHER LABTOPS YOU WOULD HAVE CONTACT THE VENDEER AND CHECK THE PIN OUT FOR THAT PORT AND SEE IF THEY ARE THE SAME.

THE COMPUTER CABLE SPACIST CAN HELP YOU, CABLE CONNECTION, CABLE AMERICA, AND CABLES TO GO.

I put a new bulb in a sanyo plc-xu73 projector still no light how do i test the bulb to make sure its not bad

There's no test equipment for DLP lamps.
The only way to test the lamp is with a working projector.
I am a Tech many times, I can tell by a visual inspection.

If you purchased a cheap lamp, or from someone beside a Sanyo dealer then, you may have a bad lamp.

Hello I cannot connect my sanyo projector PLC-XU73 with labtop can anybody help me how to do it? andjust resolution of screen or what

Hello, Here is a step by step process on how to connect a laptop to your projector.

Start with projector and laptop turned off
Attatch all cables required, power and signal (VGA) for both proj and laptop
At the laptop end, ensure that the VGA is securely fastened using the screws attatched to the cable
at the projector you should notice there is more than one socket that the cable can go in, you need to make sure you are connecting to the INPUT not the OUTPUT.
Turn on the projector and allow it to go through it's start up process, once started select the input that you plugged the cable into (usually INPUT 1, PC, or VGA).
Turn on Laptop and wait for it to do it's start up process, log in if needed.
If by now you don't have an image on screen, you'll need to try and change your output arrangement.

THE FOLLOWING IS FOR PC ONLY, NOT MAC
This is very simple, but a bit awkward to explain so bare with me. To do this you need to hold down the 'Fn' key and press the correct F# key, this changes with every brand of laptop, so for instance HP and Compaq is F4, IBM is F7, Toshiba is F5. You may be able to tell just by looking at the symbols on your F# keys. If you don't know which it is you'll have to look it up (I don't know all of them sorry). So if you had a HP laptop you would hold the 'Fn' key and press the 'F4' key.

You should now have an image on your screen, if you have lost the image on your laptop's screen after doing the previous step, press the Fn F# again, and it should send to BOTH screens.

The projector that your using is designed to run a resolution of 1024x768. When the image came up on screen it should have changed it automatically, however if it didn't do this:

right click on your desktop and click on 'properties'
click on the settings tab up the top
under 'screen resolution' you should see a horizontal slide bar move that to 1024x768
Click 'apply'
If a box pops up asking you to confirm the setting click yes quickly or it will revert back.

I hope this helps,

My Pro-X won't communicate with my computer

The first check is to make sure that it does accept other VGA signals into the 15pin D connector use 800X600 resolution, if signals are present then it is because you need to configure the output reference on your laptop. This is by using the F keys etc this switches the VGA XGA signals from your laptop screen and reference's it out to the connector.Kind regards J Williams www.jvsvisual.com

No way to get simultaneoulsy my videos on the laptop monitor and on tne projector PLC XU 73 card : ATI Radeon X700

Most laptops have a Function (Fn) key in an alternate color (blue maybe) from the usual key text color (white usually).

By pressing this key, along with another key that has text of the same (blue) color, perhaps labelled with "LCD/CRT" or a pic of a monitor, or of 2 squares - one single square and one double "square in square", you can toggle between the modes of:
1. Laptop display only,
2. external display only, or
3. Both displays.

Be sure to check your laptop model manual for specific details to make sure this is possible.

Problem with color shift

Hi there

This might be a faulty Mainboard - that will need repair or replacement - and is quite expensive.

First check by using another cable , if the problem still occurs then the above will most probably apply.

USB Driver for PLC SU70 Sanyo Multimedia Projector

Ok kumar i did some research on your problem.

Im not real savvy with projectors, but im going to try and lead you into the right direction. Now when you connect your projector to your computer, you need to go to your input settings on your projector and put them on "auto". In your product manual it says the computer should automatically detect the projector. Now if the projector isnt displaying a proper screen then you need to to go into the manual settings and adjust the settings.

Now i want you to goto this website:

http://www.aboutprojectors.com/pdf/sanyo-plc-xu73-manual.pdf

This is the manual for your projector. Scroll down to the table of contents and click on the bold letters COMPUTER INPUT click that and read a little about the way your computer connects to the projector. I hope this helps, please let me know an update. thnx
