The sound you are hearing is gas burning in the throat of the burner. It is usually an indication of a air/gas mixture. Have your gas company investigate the gas pressure. This would explain slightly higher usage because the furnace is not putting out all of its heat.

When we lit the sunrite heater we had flames on the face of it. we assume that this is too much. we did have the propane turned down as low as it would go.

sounds like you managed to get liquid propane into the pipe work. spectacular flame thrower, yes but not very safe . Take heater outside . disconeect the feed tube and regulator leave for the liquid to evaporate. Set the controls to max heat probably allow a day or so to be sure before re connecting and trying again

Coleman model# 2430-730

It is an old one, Propane? or gasoline/camp stove fuel?

If propane and will not remain lit- replace the thremocouple- that thing beside the pilot flame that does not seem to do anything- it holds the gas valve open when flame is present.

If gasoline/camp stove fuel and will not light or does not stay lit- clean the "generator" which is under the asbestos shell. It is not even acknowledged by Coleman anymore.

I have a Goodman gas (propane) pack heat pump which was installed a month ago on our new home. There is a horrible smell coming from around the unit, and some soot is on the propane pipe just in front of...

Please SHUT IT DOWN !!!!!!!!! Contact the installer because the LP propane conversion kit has probbaly NOT been installed.Any gas system should NEVER make any soot.

I have a propane heater that sits on the tank and has the ceramic plates for dissipating the heat. Instead of a nice blue flame, it has a lot of orange flame. Why?

I would shut off valve to heater and remove it from propane bottle. Carefully clean with soft bristle brush and blow out with medium pressure air. Reinstall and light heater and see if flame quality has improved. Often dirt, dust, and lint can build up in burner and cause fuel to not get good enough air to fully combust. Hope this helps you. Thanks

Knocking sound caused by the flame sputtering.

I have heard of noises coming from the inducer fan as it start to build up with condensation but the noise coming from the flame is new to me. Gas pressure or a cracked heat exchanger could cause the flames to float around out of the manifold but that is about all I can think of

I have a goodman gmp100-4 gas furnace and the gas comes on but shuts off in around 30 seconds, then tries again and the same thing... can i get some help please?

On the last gas venturi tube there should be a flame sensor located in the flame to prove it exsists, if its coroded the spark can,t jump back thru the moisture molecues in the gas to prove it has a flame to tell the circuit board to keep the gas comming. Just reomve the flame snsor and sand itand replace itback. T. Y. V. M.!

Adjusting goodman propane burners

Yellow flame can also mean inadequate gas pressure. Do you have a manometer? If not, call your gas company for a check.

Yes, goodman offers a kit. However you will need a gas technician adjust the pressure for you. The whole conversion will take about an hour. The kit may cost $50 and labor is anyone's guess. Call your gas company and give then the model and serial nimber. They can order it and install it.
