2. If you want to install windows xp. Use upgrade is recommended than new installation because it has high risk. If you use upgrade you need to uninstall all program first and backup your file.

First you need to do is to install Java for your operating system you can download latest version of Java by clicking on this link http://www.java.com/en/download/ then try to reinstall Mcafee antivirus again hope so it will fixed your problem.
Are you receiving any error messages when you try to install Windows XP? If it is not detecting your Hard Disk follow the steps below: Go into the BIOS setup (press f10 during boot process), System
configuration and disable SATA Native Support. Try installing XP again
and it should see your hard drive.
During the Windows XP install it cannot find a hard drive?
