I have just bought a Nikon D3100 but haven't taken a photo yet as I can't get rid of the info display. i either have info display or a black screen.

Hi, With DSLR's you're supposed to look through the view finder to take a picture however if you'd like to use live view on the LCD you need to turn live view on. If you look on the back of your camera there's a toggle around the red record button, you switch it and it'll turn live view on. If you need anymore help feel free to contact me and I can give you a hand =)

Hi When taking pictures in Auto, Live View...the mode changes on screen to Auto Slow, and it sounds like a long delay before taking the picture. New to SLRs. Just curious why this is happening. Thanks!

Hi, no problem, in Live view the AF and aperture is lock and hear a beep. A Lo = scene low light or aperture set in high number, open aperture or set ISO higher .

I cannot get an image on the screen of a Nikon D70 when taking a picture

The screen can be used to review pics after you take them. The D70 does not have a Live View capability.

LCD on - view image prior to taking photo

The feature you are referring to is called "Live View mode".

This is NOT available on the Nikon D80, and was only introduced on the D90, which is available now.

Live View mode allows you to use the LCD screen as your view finder instead of using the eyepiece, but unfortunately, this feature is not available in your model.

NO LCD display when shooting with brand new D40 ><

Most DSLRs (like the Nikon D50) don't have live view. In other words, in order to see the picture you must take it first.

About the auto review off, go to menu, "pencil" submenu, and the option is there (scroll until you see it)

With respect, you should read the manual. It's very comprehensive and needed. :)
