My nikon d3100 live view lcd screen wont come on. takes pics just cant review them or open menu

HI always buy camera from known place and you should go to Nikon store and asked them for help. Also check 91shopping, when ever you want to do online shopping.

For the Nikon D3100, there is a live view switch which is located on the mid-right side (please see image)

Hi, With DSLR's you're supposed to look through the view finder to take a picture however if you'd like to use live view on the LCD you need to turn live view on. If you look on the back of your camera there's a toggle around the red record button, you switch it and it'll turn live view on. Hi dear mount11zion, are the battery full charged?,please verfy.Charge the battery about 2 hs..
If still remains dark without any information go to dealer asap.

Hi, no problem, in Live view the AF and aperture is lock and hear a beep. A Lo = scene low light or aperture set in high number, open aperture or set ISO higher .

the d40 does not have live view. you would need to get a different camera.

The screen can be used to review pics after you take them. The D70 does not have a Live View capability.

The feature you are referring to is called "Live View mode".

This is NOT available on the Nikon D80, and was only introduced on the D90, which is available now.

Live View mode allows you to use the LCD screen as your view finder instead of using the eyepiece, but unfortunately, this feature is not available in your model.

Most DSLRs (like the Nikon D50) don't have live view. In other words, in order to see the picture you must take it first.

About the auto review off, go to menu, "pencil" submenu, and the option is there (scroll until you see it)

With respect, you should read the manual. It's very comprehensive and needed. :)
