RAM comapatibility issue

Currently working with Kingston 1gb ddr2 667 value RAM. i am trying to add a Transcend 1gb ddr2 667 RAM but system would not run if both of them are installed at the same time. Tried resetting bios setting, it would read both but after the save and close screen system freezes.

Yep, I tried running both RAMS individually and they are OK - I even tried resetting BIOS after installing both at the same time -

RESULT: BIOS ABLE TO READ BOTH RAMS

    BUT:
when you save and close - system restart - it freezes :(

As long as the RAM speeds/specs are the same, this should not be an issue. The most likely culprit here is faulty RAM :(

Have you tried removing the Kingston RAM completely, and trying to run off only the Transcend RAM?

If this does not work, then its almost certain that the Transcend RAM is faulty. If it does work, then the issue must lie elsewhere.

Ram issues with biostar n68sb-m2s motherboard

To determine if a 1Gb RAM module is faulty insert one RAM module in the motherboard at a time. If the both 1Gb RAM modules work then the RAM modules from different manufacturers are incompatible with each other. Try using RAM modules of the same make and speed.

I bought a new 1GB ram(DD2) when i insert it it nt work bt whenever i insert it with old 512MB ram then its work bt in bios setting only show the 1GB ram

Maybe 1GB is the maximum amount of memory that your system will hold. And maybe your system likes memory to be in pairs, so when you put the 1GB in by itself it didn't work, but when you put it in with a 512MB it works.

Hi, what RAM can I or can't I add on my GA-8I945PM ?

No, *********** board only supports DDR2 Ram thus the PC2 in your current RAM. Also the maximum capacity of your motherboard is 4gb. So if I were you I would recommend going to 4 1gb PC2-4200 modules. This would reduce latency as opposed to 2 2gb sticks. Also I recommend the 4200 rather than the 6400 or anything else as that is the optimal speed for your motherboard. Kingston is a good company to buy from, I am currently using 8 Kingston FB 2gb DDR3 sticks in my MAC Pro.

I am using Intel D865GBF board having Dual Channel DDR400/333/255 SDRAM memory support. It is of 3GHZ, 256 MB RAM. The other day I bought 1GB RAM of Transcend and tried fitting the same. But the PC never...

Yes it can support 1GB ram. Max capacity up to 4GB of ram, meaning 1GB each on each slot. Make sure that the memory that you will be installing are either DDR400, DDR333 or DDR266. It could be the RAM is faulty if the one you bought is the DDR's that I mentioned

Conflicts of RAM and motherboard

well unfortunetly it seems as though your RAM may be bad or not compatible. My suggestion is to go to crucial.com and use their easy memory finder to see what is best for your system. Then look for it else where like newegg.com or tiger direct, etc. There isn't a whole lot that you can do to fix RAM like that to make it work with a system predefined by the maker.

This board seems to have an issue after installing 4gb of ram after swapping out 1gb of transcend ram and installing 2x 2gb kingston the audio device disappears, swap the ram back and the problem goes away, to further complicate things it seems that kingston and transcend ram doesn't play nice together in this board having one of each results in no post and a ram related beep code as of yet I have not been able to produce the bios settings to allow the two sticks to play nice together maybe somebody else can help out on this one!

So either lose a stick of ram or install a sound card and have your system become considerably unstable
