Replacing the blade on a Makita 255mm miter saw

I have an Irwin replacement blade plus the 3 washers that come in the pack to go on a Makita 255 miter saw that was bladeless when I got it.

Where and in what order do the washers go?

Do I place 1 of the 2 'narrow' washers, with the slight burr around the edge, within the centre hole of the blade itself, place the new blade in position over the centre drive, add the wider washer and then apply the centre bolt?

Appreciate your assistance

    Thanks very much.

I needed a washer to fit in the arbor. Once that was done the blade fitted in to place comfortably, the flange went on top and then the bolt. Snug fit, just the tiniest amount of 'play' in the blade.

I take it you have both flanges and the washer that is behind the innner flange, if not stop there and you need to get them. As far as the blade goes it depends on what size arbor it has. You would need to use the washer that goes on the spindle with no play (movement) and put the blade on the washer I would not use a washer that is thicker than the blade. Put the outer flange on making sure of the direction and then the blade bolt LH thread. Let me know if you have any problems before starting the saw PLEASE and I will help more.

How do I replace the blade guard on my 10" Makita

If you want to replace the plastic cover there is a screw towards the front of the saw that must be removed and then the bolt at the back loosened and the guard will pull off. If you need more info get back to me with the other questions and I will try and help

How do I install the spring after changing the blade on the Makita 10 miter saw

what spring? do you mean the one in the guard? if so you don;t have to remove it to change the blade, give me the exact model number or you can go to makitatools.com and download a breakdown that shows the reassembly of the guard, it is not that hard, and also you can download an owners manual that shows the proper blade replacement procedure.

Unable to lift the saw blade Makita Miter Saw

Look at the pivot point on the rear of the miter saw for the push/pull locking pin. The pin is there so you can lock the saw in the down position for easier carrying. To unlock the saw, simply pull the locking pin out (Makita calls this the "stopper pin"). Then you can use the saw and easily raise and lower it for cutting.

As you might find it helpful to have, I have included a link from the Makita web site for a free copy of the owners manual that you can print or save for future use and reference. It has some handy info on use and care of your saw.
