Question about Skype IM
I have installed skype 4. If I double click on tray icon, it opens Skype UI but I cannot do anything on the screen. It seems all the functionality is locked. I cannot click user, cannot click menu etc. It is not frozen. Only button I can access is Compact View. I seems I have to close skype and restart skype back again. Can someone please tell me if there are any issues with version 4 or my environment causing this issue? I don't find anywhere in skype or skype website to post issues. I am looking forward to hear from you. Tx

Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:
C. Windows Live Messenger:
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
D. AIM (AOL) Messenger
Camera The audio and camera should function now.

Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings: In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Skype. If there is still
and issue after that try the following. If you are still having an issue then
contact Skype Support directly.
They are pretty good at responding.
1) Quit Skype by right-clicking on the system tray icon
2) open the Windows 'Run' dialog by holding the Windows key
down and pressing the 'R' key on your keyboard
3) Enter %appdata%\skype and press the Enter key
4) Windows Explorer should open and you should be able to
locate the folder name that corresponds to the problem Skype Name
5) delete that folder (& subfolders)
6) restart Skype and sign in that Skype Name again
All CHAT HISTORY and custom Skype client settings (if any)
for this user will be deleted when you do this (it should be easy to
reconfigure any custom settings later), but this user's Contact List will NOT
be lost as it is backed up on Skype servers and it will be restored
if you are concerned that this remedy will NOT work, and that
you're going to lose stuff in the process, you can MOVE the folder (&
subfolders) mentioned in step #4 somewhere else on your PC for safekeeping --
that way you can move it back if the above procedure does not fix your issue --
but don't forget to shutdown Skype again and remove what Skype has
newly-created BEFORE moving the 'backup' folders to their original
