Try assigning a different IP to it and see if it can be ping afterwards. If the same thing happens even with different IP, chances are, its NIC is defective and needs to be replaced.

Hi I have been asked to setup used IR3300 to be used as shared printer with Active Directory. I assigned right ip adddress with subnet mask and default gateway, but from any PCs within LAN i cannot ping...

Are you possitive that your iR3300 has printer kit installed. That series of Canon copier comes with NIC installed, but the print DIMM and network firmware is an additional option that needs to be installed. If I remember correctly, there is a way to display the firmware levels...you would see iR3300n (network).

Oki3400n - how to assign a static ip address

I found this post via Google trying to solve the similar problem with C3200n.

>> this will then cause problems as all the pcs that are trying to print to this
>> printer will no longer be able to find the printer.

Originally, I also had this problem (with C200n, but it is probably similar). If I recall correctly, I solved it as follows:

1. Open the OKI LPR UTILITY from the machine you are trying to print from.
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4552/okilprutility2009080217.png

2. Choose Option > Setup
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9641/setup20090802171057.png

3. Make sure that the Auto Reconnect checkbox is checked.

Again, I believe that is what I did to solve that I couldn't print after power outages etc. The IP is not static, but it still solves the problem.

---------
Static IP

Today I wanted a static IP for my OKI C3200n because sometimes there would be conflict between the IP for my printer and another machine in the house with a static IP.

What I did was the following.

1. In the printer menu locate the NETWORK MENU
http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6889/dscn0525e.jpg

2. Go to the IP ADDRESS SET option, change from AUTO to MANUAL
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6122/dscn0526x.jpg
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/7987/dscn0527j.jpg

3. Go to the IP ADDRESS OPTION, change to the desired ip address. In my case it was at 10.0.0.5, but I wanted 10.0.0.6 for the printer, so I changed it to that. Typically this is either 10.0.x.x or 192.168.x.x

4. Press the online button. The printer will reset the network connection (it took approx 1 minute)

5. This should be enough. You can try to ping the printer at the new IP, or navigate to the new IP in your browser:

Hp 4200 tn networking problems

I would suggest, print a diagnostic page from the printer, what IP address does it show? It is on the same network as your computers? If not then it will require changing the printer to either DHCP or giving it a static IP within the same range as your other workstations.

Trouble networking copier to computer

you might have to set up the nic card in the machine. set it to a static IP address (not DHCP), then ping it from a PC..
If you can ping it, then instalation should find it!
I dont understand " time warner connection to rout both computors thru " ?

you should have.
One broadband Modem...
One Router which all pcs and machine's are connected to...
do ipconfig/all to figure out the pcs IP address, arp -a shows the arp table. determine what IP address to give the machine.
the machine should have a nic card with a light on it, if that light is green when you connect the cable, then the nic card is working.
then proceed to install the drivers to the PCs.

HP 9040n NOT RESPONDING

Try connecting this printer to a different network wall point in the building. If still no change then move back to original wall point and try changing the connection at the Switch end in the comms room.

If still having problems then try pinging the printer to see if it gives time out or execessively high pings. Got a PC on the network and in windows open a "command" prompt and type ping -t XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX where the address of the printer should be place of the x's.

If linux open a console and type the same thing ping -t XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX.

Two way routing.

You will always have a problem because the subnet is different. Your solution lies at the Server Level if you have two different servers one must become the 2BDC, other wise you will need more hardware to setup a bridge contact D-Link as to the equipment you will need.

Why do we always have to click repair

What the repair option does is more or less disable and then enable the network connection to refresh the systems settings. This article explains what exactly it does: http://www2.lut.fi/atk/palvelut/PCTUKI/Windows/XP/Repair_NetWork_Conn.html ? Attempts to renew the DHCP lease, if the connection obtains its IP address through DHCP, using a broadcast message. ? Flushes the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache using the command arp -d * ? Flushes the NetBIOS cache using the command nbtstat -R ? Flushes the DNS cache using the command ipconfig /flushdns ? Reregisters the NetBIOS name and IP address with WINS using the command nbtstat -RR ? Reregisters the computer name and IP address with DNS using the command ipconfig /registerdns So if this is what is being done, lets try to trouble shoot each symptom and see what resolves it. My first inclination would be to check your DHCP scope on your server, and see if your scope is running out of space. Also check the lease length and see if it is set to a small amoutn of time. Your PCs could be losing their IP addresses and thus need to get new ones all the time. Are you pinging by IP or name. I would do most of the ping tests by IP as that would remove any of the name resolution issues you may be encountering. Is the wireless brindge doing any type of mac-address or arp filtering? Also, can machines in the extension always ping each other constantly? This would help narrow down the problem to see if it is an IP problem on the hosts or a possible network equipment issue.
