Choppy Video Playback

I've just made a short movie and then i encode it to MP4, AVC 10Mbps. It works just fine when i played it in my PC. But then when i transfer the file into my PS3 via a USB device, the video won't play properly. The video is very choppy, but the audio works just fine.

It's probably the codec you're using. divx works nicely.

What is an avc system

Advanced Video Coding: a type of standard for the compression of digital video. AVC helps to set the standard syntax for video formats such as Blu-Ray, mobile TV and teleconferencing.

In terms of its origin, AVC was developed jointly by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU-T) and the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG), which is a project of the ISO/IEC and familiar to many users because of popular and accessible MPEG file formats, like .mpg.

Experts point out that AVC is a prominent alternative to an MP4 format. When comparing AVC to MP4, it's important to consider that AVC has a bigger compression ratio and longer encoding than MP4, and that more central processing power is needed. However, experts also point out that the storage efficiency of AVC is greater than those of some previous MPEG formats.

The actual methodology used to encode and decode video with AVC involves three distinct phases labeled "predict", "transform" and "encode." The mechanics of AVC break video down into a kind of machine language that can be easily stored and accessed by a range of technologies.

How can I play mp4 video in my samsung GT-I5801 android phone????????

As we all know, Android does announce that MP4 is one of Android compatible formats. However, people still encounter the issue of Android won't play MP4. Why? The reason is MP4 is a container format which means this format may contain various kinds of audio and video codecs while Android is only compatible with MP4 encoded with MPEG-4 or H.264 AVC.

The following step by step guide introduces a powerful tool to solve "Can't Play MP4 on Android" issue so that you can play any MP4 files in Android phones and tablets.

I need to know if a movie file must be .mov or .mp4 in order to be placed into the MOVIE section on my Coby Mp610-2G Mp3 player, because I've added some movies to my mp3 player but they show up on when...

Your player supports MTV files encoded at 160 x 128 and 25 fps. Videos may need to be encoded with the included software for device playback.
The video converter software can be downloaded from here:

http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=prod&prod_num_id=212&pcat_id=1001

Simply click on "Video Converter", save file and then launch it. I hope if you use this program you can enjoy movies on your player.
Good luck. Thanks.

Whenever i upload a video to my computer it turns out choppy and slow. I downloaded Nikon Transfer and after using it my videos are still choppy. What do I do about this?

I'm a video game programmer with 20 years experience in software, and have a reasonable understanding movie playback software.

I also have a Nikon (S6100) and the problem is nothing to do with PC memory or CPU speed. The Nikon creates a broken version of the MPEG-4 AVC H.264 format, which results in choppy playback. I've tried Quicktime, VLC and the cameras own player - ViewNX2 - same result for all of them.

Converting the buggy .MOV files the Nikon creates to a .avi format produces perfectly smooth (flawless) video, but with the sound out of sync. I can also create perfect quality (lower res) DVD video, but with the sound missing.

I have spoken to Nikon about all this and they are quite simply clueless and will take no responsibility. As there is no firmware up[date for this camera I'm taking the camera back, as it is basically flawed.

I've read a few sites with customers complaining about choppy video for this camera, so it looks like the model itself is flawed.

168+ phone can't recode video for it it say it plays mp4 but wont

the type of mp4 is one that is used for the blackberry fone. the resolution to be set at 174x144 (or similar) 12 frames per second and audio at about 128kbs. the processor for this fone is a very weak one and will play regular mp4 but will be very choppy and out of sync. i use xilisoft ultimate video converter because it supports ALOT of formts to encode. blackberry fone is one of them. action movies will still put the pressure on the processor but cartoons seem to work the best. here is 1 to test out on your fone...
