I don't have a manual for the Luminox 1848 and would really like to get some info on how to set the alarm and how to tell when the alarm is set. A full manual would be great if anyone has one that they can email me that would be great. But if you can just give me some instructions for the alarm that would suffice.

I so have the same problem. I have the same velcrow chrono watch from Walmart. I was going to set the date on it when I accidentally set the hourly chime. I annoys everyone, especially when it goes off every hour.
I have an aqualite field ranger watch too. I lost the information but I found another notice for another watch and I was able to set the TIME as well as the alarm. I am not despairing as to one day set the date correctly! ;-)
The instructions I found are for "LIFELONG Chrono Alarm Sport watch" from Hanig & Company. The watch this particular instructions comes from has a rectangle LCD display that only takes the center of the dial, and only 3 buttons for the functions.
Aqualite has 4 buttons, but one of them is only for lighting the dial only, therefore if we use the 3 other buttons the same way they are described in this manual, it will work.
Aqualite has 4 buttons: 1) top right (we will call it S1 like this manual does) 2) bottom right (this will be S2) 3) bottom left (this will be S3)
As I said the number 4) (top left) is only for light and we will forget it since it is not needed to set our watch.

If you have your instruction manual it should tell you how to reset the chrono. i have the Luminox 8352 and it says to pull the crown out to the 3rd position. then press and hold both the start/stop and lap/reset buttons for a couple of seconds. you'll see the second hand rotate, then you can single click the start/stop button to manually move the second hand 1 second, or you can hold it and it will continue move for a longer period until time desired. if you need to adjust the other chrono hands, click the lap/reset button and then you can click the start/stop button again. repeat for the minute/hour chrono hand. when you're finished push the crown back in. it might work even though it's a different model, worth a shot? hope that helps. these are really great watches.
yes! I Don't recommend doing this yourself but if you open up the back you will see AC and a spot to touch with a twezer to short it out to the main plate. Then close the watch and pull the crown out and push the pushers in and out to set each dial.
