DM Board WS48511 Green Blinking Light

If you do not already know where your problem is then Check for 12 volts DC (AC-off detect) at pin 3 of PC9A21, if missing replace PC9A21 part # 268P058020 on the Power PCB. LED does not blink at plug in. Check for 5-volts DC at connector RF pin 3 (system reset) if low or missing suspect the reset switch S7L20 part # 432P089010 on the Control PCB. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds . LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Check for 4.7 volts DC at connector RF pin 4 and 5 on the Signal PCB if low suspect problems with the switches/buttons on the Control PCB part # 935D587002 5. LED stops blinking after 70 seconds of plug in but will not power on. Keyboard is not locked and key inputs at connector RF pin 4 and 5 check good suspect the E2P PCB part # 935C978002 . Also if you can do a self diagnosis test by pressing the device and menu for 5 sec on panel of set and read the error codes.

Sanyo DP50747-00 (Samsung Power Board LJ44-00132A) wont turn on ..

While I am afraid i can not say what is wrong with the board if only because I do not know with certainty I hope I can offer two possible solutions to anyone having a similar problem:

Here is an option to buy an already serviced and tested board and then send the old back to receive credit as per the listing:

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/866/lj44-00132a-samsung-power-supply-pspf561a01a-serviced-tested-credit-for-your-old-dud

This option may not always be available as some customers apparently prefer to pay the high price, but NOT return their old board and we eventually run out of boards.
Of course, in all fairness it also needs to be noted that sometimes we can't repair the board being returned (e.g. due to a bad transformer or a bad MCU) so it's not always the customers that cause us to run out of boards.

When we're out of boards, though, we'd probably still be open for a repair service for the board through

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/830/repair-service-for-power-supply-board-samsung-lj44-00132a-lj44-00132b-pspf561a01a-dead-tv-power-off-delay-powering-on-etc

Additionally, we may also offer repair on other modules from the same TV, such as the main board, or perhaps DIY repair kits.

To find out, go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and search for the CHASSIS of the TV (for Sanyo models, which tend to have great deal of a difference between different chassi versions).

E.g. search for "P50747-00" and not "DP50747" or you will find a lot of other offerrings not related to your TV.

Finally, a note on the recommendation from Josh Hurst above: I am not a certified Samsung technician and I bet my lunch I know a good deal more than many certified technicians. I dare say that because we do get calls if not daily then at least a few times a week from people from other service centers saying they are licensed technicians and asking us all kinds of questions.

I do not consider myself *better* than them, but I repeat I do happen to know a good deal of things that they do not know.
I would have never known what I know if I was to follow your advice. It may be given witha care to the customer, but it goes a little too far. It is OK to mess with things you are not licensed to mess with. You just have to be aware of it and accepting the risks. No offense meant.

My television quit working after a storm, it wasn't even turned on during the storm. the power on the set and remote does nothing. but it makes a sound when plugged in like it is turning on then nothing...

Ok, this was a direct hit in this case and you will defiantly need to replace the power supply board in this unit. the first thing that will happen during a direct hit is, the surge will run threw the power cord and travel threw the entire power supply circuitry, frying all circuits. this includes the main mother board as well. I recommend replacing the mother board and power supply board as well. this will restore your set to its original operational value. The mother board is commonly called the main control board.

please rate and god bless:)

Mitsubishi tv model VS6061 rear projection with rolling picture.

I know this is an old thread, but I would like to post this information in the hope that someone will find it useful.
I just finished fixing this problem on my 1994 VS-6061... the problem is the PIP (Picture In Picture) board located on the Power Signal board. The PIP board contains the numbers 530B552. I bypassed the PIP board by following the directions I found at the following link:
http://forum.doityourself.com/entertainment-center-tvs-stereos-vcrs-dvds/130383-mitsubishi-cs-35301-rolling-picture-problem.html
"Plug in a 4.7ufd @ 35v filter cap (+)at pin 5,(-)at pin 11. Plug in a .01ufd(any voltage) between pin 7 and 9. Just plug the caps into the socket, where the PIP board was mounted (they don't need to be soldered). Just don't let the leads from the two capacitors touch, as they cross each other. The 0.01 cap is non-polarity, so either way it plugged is fine. Basically you will bypass y-signal through 4.7u, in pin 5, out pin 11, and bypass c-signal in pin 7, out pin 9 of the PIP socket.”

The bypass requires 2 capacitors: One 4.7ufd @ 35v and one Non-Polar 0.01ufd @ any voltage.
Remove the PIP board, then plug the two capacitors into the socket where the PIP board was mounted: plug the 4.7ufd capacitor with (+)at pin 5,(-)at pin 11 and plug in the non-polar .01ufd capacitor between pins 7 and pin 9.
If there is a ground wire (possibly brown) soldered to one of the tin cases on the PIP board, then you should connect this ground wire to the PIP socket either at pin 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 which are grounds of the socket.
This PIP board was used in many Mitsubishi televisions and they were plagued with problems...This is why many of these older Mitsubishi televisions had similar problems…
Good luck

Ballast Verification Process
1. Short out door switch (SP001)
2. Apply AC power and wait till DM module boots
3. Press power switch and observe spark gap on ballast
4. If spark gap arcs, suspect Lamp. If color wheel starts but ballast won’t strike
lamp, go to next step.
5. Measure BP252 on AC IN CBA for +300Vdc. If missing check door switch, cable
from AC IN CBA to switch and AC IN PCB. If correct go to next step.
6. Monitor pin 2 of BT251 for Ballast ON command from Light Engine. If present
suspect Ballast. If missing suspect Light Engine. Pin 5 of BT251 starts at 3.3V
after power switch is pressed and drops to .18V when the Light Engine sends the
start command. No change on pin 5 indicates Light Engine is suspect, change
on pin 5 with no ballast start, ballast is suspect.

Note: Lamp may arc but not start. Pin 5 of BT251 is "LAMP LIT" and goes to 1.48V
when lamp is lit. If ballast strikes lamp but lamp won’t stay lit, suspect Lamp.
