Question about Texas Instruments TI-89 Calculator

I wanted to run the app called tankers but it says it busy straight for 4 days. You can click any key key but nothing happens

Hello,

The calculator is clearly suffering. Maybe not enough memory or too many calculations, or batteries weak. Remove the main batteries, not the backup and restart. Once in a while clean the RAM.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Good luck!

So if you have some calculation that involves a dummy variable called theta you can use any of the variables available on the calculator to represent it.

To calculate the square root use the square root key, three rows above the "8" key.

If you want to see the result symbolically, press SHIFT MODE 1 to select the MthIO mode. Bear in mind that the calculator can only show some results symbolically.

No, your calculator does not know a variable called theta. But what is theta but a symbol to represent a variable. Usually it is used to represent an angle in polar coordinates. It is just the usage and it is not really essential. You can do conversion from polar to rectangular coordinates and from rectangular to polar coordinates but it does not matter what the angle variable is called.

Go ahead, do all the calculations you want that involve an angle. If the calculator can perform them , they will be evaluated correctly and the name you give the angle value (alpha, beta, theta, iota...) is immaterial.

You have turned the Engineering display mode ON. In that mode, the power
of 10 that are displayed are multiples of 3. In your case the m stands
for milli or (1 thousandth).

To exit the engineering ON mode, press the Mode button, several times (4) until you see EngON, EngOff. Press the corresponding digit key to turn off the Engineering display mode.
