Question about Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 Webcam

1 Answer

My webcam works only once then I have to reboot.

I have a QuickCam Pro 5000 and I use it almost exclusively with Skype. In order for my webcam to work I have to reboot the computer and then make a call. As soon as that call is made the webcam will not work again. When I close Skype and try and open the webcam it says, "Webcam is in use by another application." I have checked and there are no other applications open. The only solution I have found is restarting the whole computer. I just removed/reinstalled the drivers.

Any ideas or solutions are much apprecitated.

Check device manager and update driver
have you set cam up with skype

Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on
Audio Settings
and set the Microphone and Speakers
to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera if installed properly
will come up and show a picture.
Then on the bottom of the page click on Save.

My quickcam keeps freezing up!!

Normal 0 How much memory do you have installed in your computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

My webcam is skype and i dont noe how to install it .

If this is a Skype webcam it should be plug and play, what happens when you plug the camera into the PC?
Whats the model of the camera there will probably be a free downloadable driver on the internet.

Logitech WebCam Pro 5000 - Video Problem

Well the thing is with Digital Camera If there is lots going on (on the computer) your other program might interfer
1st end all processes that might have anything to do with the camera or that may be using any of its features, I would retart your computer as well
If you still have any issue uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the camera.
But I'm thinking you might have too much going on in the computer at the same time

Good Luck

Mac not identifying camera

Logitech does not make a Mac OSX Driver :(

There are couple ways to get it working.

Try Skype, people have reported that this camera works with skype.

Try one of these. (They are not free so I would try Skype first)

In order to solve your problem, first search the brand & model of your webcam to www.google.com , then download the driver from the links given by google, Unplug your webcam before you'll install the driver software, then after installing the driver plug your webcam to your computer's compatible port.
