I normally plug my stero line-in connection in earphone output jack.
for better results I'm using a USB audio adapter to interface 5.1 amplifier.

Stereo system connected to computer audio is not working and it was working before

Recheck your settings. Go the lower right and see if the speaker settings are correct. Vol. and speaker connections! You may have turned off the speaker off by error. If the settings are OK, try a headset with right/left ear buds and if you get sound, then the speakers are a problem.

Hi , Im trying to make my external volume controler work om my Aer 4520. Its a litlle ring that puts volume up and donwn

Ebv65,

External speakers for your laptop are very easy to hook up. They should plug right in to the external speaker outlet on the laptop. Your acer 4520 has a Headphone/speaker/line-out jack with S/PDIF support. First you need to check all your volume levels within the control panel (located in the sounds and devices folder) to make sure they are up. This solve your problem. Thanks for visiting Fixya.com. Have a great day.

Can Acer laptop drive the Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer?

sure can, any standard sound amplifier can take a signal from the stereo earphone jack and amplify with fantastic results.

Just need to go to Radio Shack or Walmart, or another department store to get the right adapter (stereo to stereo, or stereo to mono) and cord.

Note the number of contacts on the earphone plug that plugs into the earphone jack. If it has three different connections on the plug, it's stereo. If it has only 2 then it is mono.

Most computers I know of have the stereo plug which works with stereo inputs of an amplifier.

So, the answer is a resounding yes.

Headset Microphone doesn't work

Plugged in? Is it a stereo plug? does your computer allow speaker and mic on the same wire? Does the outlet say Mic or Headset of Both? Had it worked in the past.

Some computers have a place for a mic - some for headset - some might have both. On a desktop, I would expect to find separate connections. Laptop, Id have to look.

A 'stereo' plug will have a tip, ring and barrel connection.

A 'mono' plug will have a tip and barrel connection only.

A stereo plug would allow a mic and head phone connection ujsing a 'common' for the return.

A mono plug would allow either a mic or a headset, not both.

If you could peer into the jack inside your computer, you could tell if it privides for three wire (stereo) or two wire (mono) operation.

I hope this helps ... If I missed your question, please reask.

How do I attach my mission speakers to my aspire 5100? I have lost the manual and there are no twin-plug openings (I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to the technical stuff)

Trying to catch up here...Twin-Plug....are you asking for Left and Right channel? Laptops have a mini-din female plug for audio out. Usually used for headphones, but if you have powered speakers that will work too. You can get and adapter that will plug into the mini-din that will split your channels into something other than a mini-din....say RCA (Left and Right) (+ and -) (Red and White) ....whatever..., but you will have to know what your plugging into it. If you are using self powered stereo speakers that were not made for this you will need an adapter...Try any online Audio/computer place....CDW.COM....Tigerdirect.com....etc. Or a local electronics store.

No voices come out, sound is good, with headphones and speakers

This sounds like a problem with your connection for your headphones. Your headphone jack on your notebook is stereo, which means that you need stereo headphones to make it work. If you look at the tip of your plug on your headphone cord, it will have 1 black ring, or 2 black rings. 1 black ring is mono, 2 black rings is stereo.

If you are using stereo headphones, and you're still having this problem, your headphone plug is not going all the way into the jack on your notebook. Press the plug all the way into the jack and the problem should be fixed.

If you physically cannot push the plug all the way into the jack, there may be a problem with the jack on your notebook that will need to be looked at.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

D510 how can I hook up to my stereo?

The two ports on the laptop are most likely a mic input and a headphone output.
Connect a cable (stereo) from the headphone output to the stereo input of your amp.
