I have the same issue. Gas ignites and blows heat into rolling drum, but then goes out after 15 seconds. How can you tell if it's the Radiant Sensor or weak gas valve coil

Gas Dryer wont stay lit.

It may be your dryer vent piping. If the piping from the dryer to the outside of the house is clogged with lint (which happens periodically) the dryer cannot get rid of the heat generated by the gas burner. When the temperature reaches a certain level the high limit switch opens and shuts the burner off. The switch closes again after the dryer cools down. Check the lint filter and all the vent piping for any obstructions and clean out thoroughly. This should solve your problem. Hope this helps.

My kenmore gas dryer isnt producing heat, I replaced the igniter and the thermal fuse, and still the dryer doesnt heat up. All the vents are clean, from the small square in the front of the dryer you can...

Most likely bad burner coil on the gas valve. If you have a meter you can ohm them out. Should be less than a couple Kohms . It s a very common problem what you are describing and its almost always the coils. Replace them both.

Gas dryer not heating properly

This sounds like the flame sensor is bad to me.

If it does not work properly, the unit will shut off for safety. The machine assumes that the burner did not light and rather than run gas into your house, it shuts off. It may try to start a certain number of times and then shut off.

You may be able to remove and clean it (flame sensor) lightly with a scotch brite pad and it may work properly again.

Otherwise it will need replacement.

This is a very common problem and the part is probably in stock.

Post a comment on your progress as this solution is likely to be useful to many people.

Thanks,

Tim

The problem is not the gas valve.
