Question about HP Compaq Presario M2010US Notebook

Display went from extremely dark to complely black

The display was working fine and suddenly the images were barely seeable. After a couple of weeks, the screen went completly black. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks, I was able to see the image after shining a light on the LCD panel so it appears to be the LCD back-lights. I tried the fix on another part of the site with no success. They suggested adjusting brightness with function key and checking to make sure the Lid switch was not stuck. Didn't work.



    Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks again. At least I know it's not eh system board

Hello there.
I understand that your Notebook is not showing the display lights. To isolate the issue please do the following troubleshooting steps.

1) Check the display with external monitor. If the external monitor is showing the display then the problem is with the LCD screen. If the external monitor is not showing the display then the problem is with the display card.

2) If you have any torch light or a cell phone , try focusing the light on the LCD screen after the Notebook is powered on and check whether you are able to see the texts and images on the LCD. If you are able to see the images and texts then it is the problem of the LCD back-lights. The lights which glow at the back of the LCD panel are not working.

If your Notebook is under warranty HP will repair it free of cost.

Contact HP customer chat center for more information regarding the details of the repair and the procedure for sending the Notebook to HP in case of repair.

My casio protrek 2500t watch is in power saving mode but even after keeping in dark for hours between 10pm and 6 am the display does not go off.Please help.


I own the same PRW-2500-1A (all black).Check if under the hours reading, PS appears.If yes,power saving function is activated.
Normally, Power Saving Function is enabled automatically (if activated) if the watch stays in complete dark for sometime.If after a couple of hours in the dark the watch comes suddenly under bright light,the display goes on immediately.Hour interval (10pm-6am) has nothing to do with Power Saver.
Try the following:
a)Deactivate and reactivate (or vice versa) the PS.
b)Leave the watch in the dark for a couple of hours .Then,still in the dark,try,using a very low power light (just that you can,barely read) to check if display is blank.If not you may have a problem with the light sensor found at the bottom of the display.Will be a very rare case but you have to take the watch to a CASIO authorized service.

Canon 60D playback images turning up black


Did you switch to Tv (shutter mode) and took pictures for several seconds? like in the dark? Because saving the picture can take as long as the shutter time was.
Before panic. (Actually you never should panic) check your camera in automatic mode. And make sure you did not select any power save action, that puts your display on dark while shooting.
But always be sure your battery is charged and check its capacity. In the menu yo can check under the wrench symbol, when you select Battery info. Page 268 of the manual.
Working with a bad battery can damage the camera in the end.

The display is dark but barely seeable already replaced the inverter externaql monitor works


Its the backlight. Bit of a pain to replace but will work like new. About $10 off ebay and here a site with some great instructions http://www.lcdparts.net/howto/troubleshooting/LaptopCCFL1.aspx take your time and good luck...plz vote

Try to factory reset the iPhone with the latest version 3.0 on iTunes and see if that helps if not then its a hardware problem and not the software issue.

Canon A520 powershot camera - the display panel is dark


Use a memory card and memory card reader. If the images come out black you have a bad CCD in your camera.

LCD Display Blank


I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback as well.

I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito, Ecuador)

LED display on powershot a630 is very dark. It was working fine, and then when I moved the display it suddenly went dark


pershaps that the cable inside to power the lcd is defect. or it could also be that the backlight is defect . those things can be repaired (don't do it your self) but costs could well be higher than buying a new camera
