Question about Dell Inspiron 531s Desktop Computer
Inspiron 531S will not boot up. Gives error Windows has detected a problem and is shutting down....I ran system diagnositcs and get failures with error code 5300:0119 and various Video Modes.
Is this an indication of a bad video card, or is there something else I can check ? Thanks.
Can you start it in safe mode? If so, try to do a system restore.
Next do a start>run>sfc/scannow to see if there are any system files messed up.
Can't start in safe mode? Then try to boot from the system disk and at the first prompt to do a repair type "R". Then run chkdsk /r to see if this solves the problem. This will fix bad files.
Still out of luck? Then you are looking probably in the right direction when you suspect the video card.
