As TVs age, the rate at which the CRTs begin to decline in terms of light output increases. If you go into the customer menu and adjust the color setting to zero. ( no color) observe the image. Is it good gray scale? Or, is the image still green tinted? If so, its definitely a problem with the CRTs( picture tubes) You may need to just re-adjust the screen settings for the CRTs or it may be more serious, a CRT may be bad. Replacing the CRT is a job for an expert and will cost $500-700.

Does my Toshiba 65H14 TV need a digital converter box

If your TV is an older TV, everything changed when DTV (now meaning Digital TV) became the default on Friday, June 12, 2009. Older TV's (are analog, newer digital) require a converter box.

I own a Quasar SP-3235 32" TV. It has a slight green tint after 10 years of use. How can I adjust the color screens on this set? Is it a function of the remote like Sony TVs or do I need to remove

I would open it first and look, a lot of those had both the screen and drive controls on the PCB at the end of the picture tube, at least look there first.

You are dead on in looking for the screen controls, if you find one it should only be a tiny adjustment due to age and the Crt changing a bit.

My projection tv lost its blue tint

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Usually this happens when the Light Engine has gone bad, and I should say this is a common issue with Projection TVs. There are three tubes/mini LCDs inside your TV- green/yellow, blue and red. When the set heats up over time of usage the screens tend to break resulting in leaking color everywhere. The cost to get this fixed by a professional should be around $300 depending on the parts that needs to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Magenta Color

Here is something that may help from the toshiba.com website under your model number television. Q. Why are people on my screen green?
Models: 32HL17, 37HL17, 42HL17, 42HL167, 47HL167, 52HL167, 42HL167, 42LX177, 46LX177, 52LX177, 57LX177

If the problem is not the connections, try adjusting the tint on your television. A high tint setting will usually create a green
image on the screen where as a low tint will create a more red hue. In order to access your television's tint:
1. Press the “MENU” button on your remote control and use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys and select the
VIDEO menu.
2. Then use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight PICTURE SETTINGS and press the "ENTER" button on
your remote.
3. Next use the UP and DOWN arrow keys to highlight TINT then use the LEFT or RIGHT arrow keys to adjust the
TINT. If the picture is too green the tint will need to be lowered.
4. Once you have adjusted the tint to your liking, use the DOWN arrow key to highlight DONE and press ENTER. The toshiba customer service telephone number is : 1-800-631-3811. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Sony KDS-50A2000 screen is in green tint

My Sony KDS 50 A2000 is 17 months old. Its the 50 Inch SXRD projection model. About two weeks ago the screen developed a green tint with cannot be tuned out, then a few days later the message began to appear on the screen that the bulb was nearing the end of its life and must be replaced.
Fortunately I have the Circuit City extended warranty.
I called and within just a few days a serviceman came out and replaced the projection bulb.
The Result: No change in the picture, the green tint remains on all channels, so I'm awating the next service call. Under the service warranty they have the option to repair or replace this set. If indeed this is the light engine (optical block) which I suspect and its going to cost $1,000 or more I may be looking at a new set.
When it works this is a great TV, but I have had three Sonys now including two other standard CRT models and now this one joins them in the junk heap, the other two also bit the dust after just about two years. Is it time to give up on Sony?
I know they have a class action suit on a similar model for this same problem. Caveat emptor

Toshiba 32AF41 Power up Problem and Green Screen

My first inclination would be to check the picture tube, especially if the set is over 7 years old. If it is not that, then anything from bad solder connections to capacitors or a defective IC could be the cause. If it's over 10 years old, replace it. No use flogging a dead horse.

Toshiba 61h70 Picture Problems Hello, I have a Toshiba 61h70 TheaterView HD Projection TV, and was recently having some slight convergence issues (red was out of alignment and could not be adjusted). So I researched and found that the IC?s (STK392-110) needed to be replaced. I initially purchased them on eBay, to later find out that they were cheap clones and did not work (they made the convergence worse, actually). I then purchased 100% Sanyo IC?s from a reputable dealer and replaced the IC?s again. Once finished, I then entered the service menu and adjusted the convergence alignment. Once the alignment was perfect, I hooked back up the TV antenna, the DVD player (composite), and the S-video from my computer. The convergence is fine, but now I?m having a totally different issue ? the video is ?scrolling?. The menus will show up fine, however any incoming video inputs will show up okay for a split-second, but will then flash and the picture starts to scroll in different directions. This happens with any of the video inputs. I checked and changed all the service menu items to factory defaults, however this had no effect. I have pasted a link below to a short video that illustrates the issue that I?m having. Please note that the video starts off with a black screen, showing the ?input? menu, and then I selected the ?TV input? and changed the channels. You will see the picture fine for a moment when the channel is first changed, but then the picture will start to scroll. Any ideas of what would be causing this? And how can I correct the issue? I?m not a TV repair expert, so I?m not even sure where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i303/hybrydmike/?action=view₪t=TV_Troubles.flv
