    error F11

  • mmarsh0429 Mar 03, 2009

I am having the same problem periodicly with my Duet front load GHW9400PWO. The washer will be working fine, and suddenly in the middle of a cycle, it "stops", "beeps", then "F11" displays on the screen. Occasionally, I can push "stop", then "start", and it will start up where it left off and finish the cycle no problem. Other times, it just continues to repeat the "stop, beep, display F11" cycle; it's like it "locks up"; I can't even get it to abort the cycle and have the door unlock. Very frustrating. Nothing in the owner's manual addresses the code or it's meaning, other than "F" variables (F4 to F16) (electrical problem).

Be careful with this F-11 issue. I just had a repair man come out to look at our problem, and the machine's diagnostic feature revealed nothing. He checked with the manufacturer that told him that 85% of the time this is caused by the motor control unit (MCU). So with a bum machine and such good odds, we went with the repair - big mistake. We are out hundreds of dollars and still have the problem. Even if they come out and replace another part, the cost is heading towards the price of a new machine (any other brand though) so we are unlikely to pursue fixing it. We will probably use it until the F11 gets me frustrated enough to toss it out the back door. Good luck with your problem.

F-11 is communication error between the Motor control unit and the Main CCU. Either of these or both could be bad. Sometimes unplugging all the connections from the CCU (under top panel) and plugging them back in will fix the problem. If fixed, there's a bad connection at the CCU.

Hi! i had the same f11 code on my whirlpool duet and i fixed the problem by taking a q-tip and a little rubbing alcohol to the connection point where the door latch closes into the washer. (I cleaned both the washer side...you have to extend the q-tip inside until it hits the plastic part, and the actual latch) Mine was full of dark muck! I first used a damp q-tip and moistened the area really well then i used several dry ones and just kept wiping until the area was clean. I used rubbing alcohol and not water because it evaporates quick. Like magic the washer is back to working great! Hope this helps!

F11 error code

The F11 code means there is an electrical with the Maytag Epic washer. This could involve wiring, fuses or a number of other issues.

Press the "Pause" button twice to stop the current cycle. Press the "Drain" button to remove any excess water. Try to run the washer again. If the F11 code repeats, shut the washer off and contact a service agent
.
The FH error code may be mistaken for the F11 code. The FH code signals a water supply issue and has nothing to do with electrical problems. Check the LCD screen to ensure you read the proper code

Stops on spin cycle and gives a f11 error code

F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancel, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech.

We are getting code F11. What does that mean?

Hello. the F11 trouble code means Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
These are circuit boards within the machine and one of them will have to be replaced. Most folks leave this job up to the service technicians.

I repeatly get and f11 error. I click the pause

The F11 code is usually a generic code that indicates a communication error between the central control unit and the motor control unit. A common problem is that the wiring connection jiggles loose or gets corroded. Unplug and reseat the connector at the control board, and this may solve the problem. Also look for any sign of corrosion which is the enemy of good electrical contact. Hope this helped and best wishes.

F DL Error Code

If you were already experiencing the F11 error code and now experiencing the Fdl error, this more than likely is a failure of the Main Control Board. F11 is a serial communications error associated with the Main Control Board, while the Fdl error is either a failed Main Control Board and/or door latch. You can replace the door latch first to see if the error goes away, but I would almost bet you have a control board problem since you were already experiencing an intermittent error code associated to it. Let me know if you have any further questions.
