I am setting up my laptop and I am getting limited access when I try to get on the internet. I have the D-Link Router. It works great with our PC's but is not working with the laptop. Does anyone else have this problem?

You Internet access is through the cable or DSL modem. Connect your wireless router to the cable or DSL modem and then configure the wireless router with the wireless encryption settings. Then configure the wireless cards in the laptops with the router's encryption settings etc. This will then allow the laptops to connect wirelesslt to the wireless router and the Internet. It is dhcp server issue. For that connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then access it with following link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" then go to advanced and enable dhcp . Then save settings and then restart . Also you can set ip addrese manualy but make sure it is in range with router.
Make sure that every setting in the new laptop matches the settings in the router. If one setting is off, you will not get a connection. It is also possible that the router is set to only allow specific computers to connect to it. If that is the case you will have to add the new laptop to the allowed connections in the wireless settings of the router.
If you have limited access, that means you need to change the wireless channel of your router. Using
your wired computer, open the router's setup page by going to internet
explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 and press enter. It will prompt
you for username and password. By default the username is blank and the password is admin. Look for wireless tab and look for wireless
channel. Change it to channel 11. Make sure to take note of the
Wireless Security key as well under wireless security tab. Save the
settings after changing the wireless channel. On your laptop, make sure
to disable any firewall then try to reconnect to the wireless network.
