1.First go to Start/ Control Panel/ Add Remove Programs
see if there is any kodak software installed. If so remove it, if not skip to the next step.
2. Here is the link CLICK HERE to the software download for your camera it is free. Reinstall this software on your computer.
3. Try using the cord again, in the same usb port or even a different one. Its possible the USB port you were trying to use has went bad.

Thank you for stopping by, feel free to leave a Fixya rating if this has helped.

Once you do those steps restart your PC first. Then plug it back into the PC and open MY Computer your camera should show up as another drive. Will probably be the last drive letter.

  • Quickfx PC Repair Feb 17, 2009

You shouldnt need the KODAK software installed to transfer pics, maybe only a driver. Just make sure you plug the cable in securely, and try a different USB port.

Yes you should be able to see the camera as a removeable storage device in you computer, open my computer from desktop or from start menu, look for the removeable storage device. Press f5 if you don't see it and replug and press f5 again the pictures are inside the drive that appears.

Yes, you can use the USB cable to charge the battery. But you need to insert the cable into the computer USB port, no the USB HUB, and the computer is on, not in sleep mode.

Can not charge my kodak i think its my usb cable.

If trying to charge using USB through a computer, you have to have the computer on, booted up, and running! The only other thing to try if that is not the problem is to replace the USB line you use, checking plug ends for damage. Good Luck!
