Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
When I turn on my laptop the screen remains black but I could hear the start-up sound. I have to use a small penlight to light up its surface for me to see the icon to where I could enter my password. Thereafter, the laptop will run the way it is but still no visible display on the screen (remains black). On the other hand, when I connect an external monitor to it, everything are functioning properly. I could see the BIOS start-up and manage everything with the aid of external monitor. When I try to run its built-in web cam, it also gives me a good cam display (there's power on the webcam).
This unit was just given to me as gift to by my brother..Please help me!
Check screen brightness.
On keyboard is normally activated by combined FN + Fx keys (F9 or F10).
Check your keytops and/or your user manual.
Using this feature you should be able to restore a standard contrast on your screen.
If it isn't working the only alternative is external monitor.
