Hiya, I just bought a new Numark TT-1910 turntable, and its screwed..
Hehehe.. It will play records, but you can hear the pitch raise and then
lower again constantly throughout the record..
And when you hit stop, it will stop but then it kinda moves back and
fourth just a lil...like its scratching on its own?!?!
Anything I can do to fix this? Or should I just take it back to the
store I bought it from?
Thanks..

Sorry to hear that, Numarks are fucked up. So many people
complained to me about the same exact problem you're having.Even
with their most expensive model(that lame one with the digital
pitch readout). I heard someone have had to take 3(!) of the
tt-1's back because of that problem, therefore i don't suggest
getting numarks, or just replacing it with a numark. Go back to
the store, give them that piece of shit and ask for store credit,
then use that store credit to buy 1200's

Indeed. Even if it performed within operating parameters, you'd still better
take it back.
Yes. After you've received the refund, be happy and either:
1. Save up the money to get a pair of Technics (sounds like wonderful advice
but only a very select number of people will follow that course).
2. Get yourself a set of second hand TT's (buying second hand can be a great
option but can also be a snake pit).
3. Get yourself a set of TT's that are in the same budget as the Numark crap
you mentioned cheap BUT do offer a fair design for their budget. The Gemini
XL-500 is such a contraption. There are probably other budget TT's that also
have a descent design but again I have to warn you that a long list of
manufacturers use the same crap Numark uses (look at and remember tone-arm on
Numark, you'll see a resemblance in a lot of other brands!).
